Tauchman would be great but him getting AB with this team would be limited unless they give Zuki even less or no PT in the OF because Tauchman can spell all 3 OFers and give them each a full day off every week.

This is one part of what I truly hope Hoyer addresses at the deadline, adding a guy to strengthen the backend of the bullpen. During the postseason in the last few years we have seen how much a solid bullpen can go a long way with winning as starters are mostly expected to get 6 innings at most. I would love to see the Cubs add another big arm to go with Palencia Flexen and Theilbar to close games out from 7th inning on. I think theyll be fine with the mix of others that they have to get through the rest of game if needed. Pressly, Pomeranz, Keller, Brasier etc.

I'll start worrying or caring what the Brewers are doing more after the 5 games series against them in August. Both teams will have 34 games left after that series, so we'll see where the Cubs are at after that. Yep, maybe this will be a reason for TR to give Hoyer the ok to go get some real upgrades and not worry about payroll. I mean they are still on top of mlb record wise, be kind of sucky to not push forward and do what it takes to win it all this season.

Don't need to DFA him, just stop pitching him late in close games is all. He's a 5th-6th inning guy now or when games aren't close late.

That great and all but just something about him that I just dont like seeing him pitch late in close games, kinda like Turner situation. 🤷♂️

No but once you get to the 7th, you gotta be able to feel comfortable knowing you should be sending out your 3 best relievers to hold them. Pressly isnt one of them.

I can see keeping Berti especially for the postseason roster for his ability to steal bases and baserunning. The other two need to go yesterday, I don't want them having any part of the postseason.
