  1. I get what youre saying, and that probably the only hope they have and hopefully is Counsell plan. is to add Rea, Brown, etc.. pitchers that can go 3-4 innings in the bullpen, and then hope to get a solid 4 from their SP and then follow up with another starter to get 3-4 innings. Problem will be hoping these pitchers wont be giving up multiple runs, cause they all aren't the most reliable starters. Then, the Jeckyll and Hyde bats... It like every other week these guys go through a handful of games where they look like they can't do anything against good or bad pitchers. Phillies have 3 solid starters, Dbacks have 3 solid starters, Dodgers have 3 solid starters if Ohtani pitches, Braves have 2 really good starters, Brewers have Mis., and Padres have King. So, its not going to be easy for the bats to help out the pitching if they're giving up those 4+ runs. There's no see i told you so with this team because everyone can see that this team dont have the "pitching" or that stopper SP that can carry a team through the postseason. They have a good shot at getting through the WC round if they can hold onto the 1 seed, but the only real hope for this team to get through Division round or further is for these pitchers to pitch way over what theyve been doing all season and pretty much everyone in the lineup are hitting. I'd rather be told to hand in my 2026 fan card and see these guys get to the WS, then be one of many that dont see this team with enough good pitching to get to the NLCS
  2. Day 3 of how do they find a way to lose a game to Seattle 🙄
  3. Because its so frustrating and stupid with this team, that all you can do to save your sanity is laugh it off, because of course they found a way to lose a lead or game. Usually its by giving up a homerun of course.
  4. I know, was just in frustration hence the annoyance rolling eyes emoji, it was posted above about Webb being the only reliever in circle of trust. Just frustrated
  5. I dont have any real winning expectations for this team, theyll probably make the playoffs outside of a collapse in September, but I dont expect them to do much. This team despite being 18 over 500, just have too many negatives going for them as a whole.
  6. PCA knew that cant hit with RISP, so he got doubled off so Bregman and Busch can hit solo shots 😅
  7. Right, it makes a difference in the postseason if you have 1-2 starters you can count on to get you 6-7 innings, compared to guys you hope can go 5. Main reason is bullpen use, you need to try not to be needing them for 4 innings every game in a series.
  8. Easy, they dont have a shutdown starting pitcher, theyre all basically guys you hope to get that QS ( 6ip 3 runs) from and be happy with that.. A bullpen of mostly guys that can't be trusted to get a clean inning from. Offense that been jeckyll and hyde all season. They may squeak pass the WC round, the Division round will be a coin flip cause you dont know what pitching youll get or which offense will show up.
  9. Wouldn't be a cubs game if they dont give up a HR 🙄
  10. Theyre either getting shutout by the kid or knocking him out by the 3rd inning 🤷🤷
  11. Huge difference between starting and off the bench, theres really no reason for him to start again the rest of this season. Starter: 51 G 188 PA 57 Ks .199/.298/.360/.658 Bench: 35 G 37 PA 11Ks .297/.381/.730/ 1.111
  12. Cubs lost 3 games to the Brewers in a blink of an eye, now 6 back
  13. Forget about the Brewers, and better keep an eye on the Phillies now
  14. Bad enough you give up 6 but the bats also sucked with leaving a shitload on the base
  15. Not surprising Zeferjahn needs to be dropped from late innings relief
