A team flaws will pretty much always come out in a playoff series... Cubs pitching is garbage and the bats have players that struggled most of the year and will likely continue to when facing good pitching.

Lol, so 1 extra day and hes fine??? Probably looking at 4 innings from Gausman and then a line of bullpen guys starting with Civale. More the reason despite the trust issue, why they should of just went with Imanaga tonight.

I think Hoyer prefers these type of pitchers and philosophy, and would just hire someone who shares the same thoughts. So, im not sure it matters too much who the pitching coach is because Hoyer will still look for the same type of pitchers. I think the only shot at any change would be if Hoyer allows Counsell to choose his new coach and the two of them have more of an input on who and type of pitchers theyd like Hoyer to pursue and have at least a balance in philosophies on the pitching staff like he had in Milwaukee

Like you said the defense works to an extent for 162, and you cant defend balls hit way over your head, and there were lots of them.

I know how much we rag Imanaga but of all the starters, he had a really good month of September in 4 real starts and one 1 inning start. 24 innings and only 6 runs given up, and he likely won't even touch the ball in the postseason 🙄🙄🙄

Yes injuries happened and no i dont trust Jed to address anything properly. He went out and brought in Gausman 4.83 ERA, Holmes 4.25 ERA, Zeferjahn 4.50 ERA, as Cubs. Garrett stayed in Iowa til last game of season. Funny thing too, BlueJays trade Gausman and made a strong push for a WC spot led by the prospect they recieved from the Cubs (Bateman).....

That what I was saying last week, they just dont have anyone to hand the ball to and feel confident in getting at least 5 solid innings from, except maybe Peterson now.
