  1. Wasn't able to watch, how did the robo ump thing go ? 16 K and 5 BB total seem kinda on the low end
  2. Is there 1 or 2 guys from this draft that has a chance to make an impact on majors league roster within the next 2-3 years
  3. Seems unusual that they have only chosen OFers so far as position picks, usually it SS.
  4. I just have a hard time understanding how they know for sure that it will result in a hit 57% of the time. I have no problem with telling a hitter great job you hit the ball hard keep it up cause eventually they'll start dropping, I just dont get how they come up with these percentages. No biggie
  5. OK, I can buy that example if that how they're coming up with their numbers by using past results of balls hit that hard and in that exact location.
  6. OK, but how exactly do they know 57 of them would of been a hit for sure ? Isn't that just an assumption to think that if Swanson hit that ball exactly the way he did 99 more times that it would fall in 57 times and not fielded ? I just find that hard to accept because a fielder is likely going to play him the same way and will likely be positioned to field that ball. I just want to know how they know for sure that that ball will drop 57% of time?
  7. Unlucky or just guys not coming through with a big hit. I know the answer I'll get but I think that this is what separates me from most of you guys on here that loves these sabermetric stats, I look at the actual results. I asked before and didn't get an answer if anyone knows, what exactly do they use to determine that a ball that was fielded for an out was expected to be a hit ? Like with above xBA, is that supposed to mean that almost half the Cubs outs should of been hits and why should they have been hits if fielders are positioned right and make the playoffs? I have to leave now and won't be back til later tonight, so not asking to argue or disrupt the game thread just a curious question and will look for responses and discuss tonight when I return. Go Cubs, Imanaga pitching awesome so far, let get some runs and a W today
  8. Ugggh, Swanson and Nico Now Brujan who already got his hit for the day
  9. No DP and get runner to third at very least here Edit; never mind 🤦‍♂️
  10. Ugggh, hope that the only run Imanaga gives up today. Hate when bats miss an opportunity to score then opponents get one right after
  11. Yes, pitching has to be Hoyer number 1 and main priority, even if Shaw sticks and doesn't improve, the rest of the offense is good enough to get 4 runs per game and with solid pitching that should win alot of games.
  12. Let get more runs, I want to see the Yankees start pulling players early today 😅
  13. Damn, hate those rally killing DP Good start, theres your lead Imanaga, now like Boyd did yesterday, Hold it. 😅
  14. No Shaw again, so hes either getting a much needed break or like I said before, they could be sending back to Iowa after the break to get himself right mentally and work on things. Hopefully this will be Brujan last game as a cub as they readjust the roster a bit during the break for the second half. Like yesterday, just figure out a way to win a ballgame and the series, and continue the momentum into the second half. I saw the Yankees lineup, I was hoping they sat a couple regulars to give them an extra day off 😅
  15. They in NewYork and it's the Yankees, plus any lineup that has Brujan starting is an automatic deduction 😅😅
  16. True, and that was inflated by all the intentional walks he was getting, even with bases loaded 😅
  17. Yep, id be fine with him and Tucker just getting 1 AB and watching the rest of the game from the clubhouse....
  18. I mean that the best case scenario when your also a fan of the game and your team is facing one of the stars of the game. Your team wins and that star hits a homer or does something big.
  19. I may be wrong but I think that was mostly and including yesterday bullpen garbage game, but mostly the go get them just eat innings pen guys in the games that were getting away and not the guys they count on mostly.
  20. I think when he faces lefties, hes up there swinging and hoping it's a ball over the plate .lol
