  1. This would be a good time for the cubs to win a blowout game...
  2. Why wouldn't Imanaga be on that list ? He would be the obvious choice
  3. Over/ Under on first cub hit of the game 3rd inning.. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
  4. I'd trade them Happ in a heartbeat... Tauchman can cover LF until they feel Caissie is ready or PCA. He'll, they can give Davis a shot and see if he can get it done
  5. I agree, which is why it worries me that he going to waste away some of the minor league talent he has by holding them down too long and not using them in trades to upgrade or with team.
  6. I'd agree if they weren't supposed to be contending for a division/playoff run, but how do you trot a rookie out there everyday and give him 500+ AB to do nothing at a position that normally a run producing one in your lineup. Including last season, he now has 263 PA, he hitting .213 with a .684 OPs and 91 Ks He isn't ready and he not going to figure it out at the MLB level, he needs to go down like you would send a pitcher down and have coaches work with him there.
  7. We're almost down to 100 games left in the season and there are teams starting to fall way under 500 with no real chance of making the playoffs. Mets, Rockies, Marlins, BlueJays, Whitesox, As, Angels... Cubs have needs, and IMO their biggest needs are a bat(s) and reliever(s). Hoyer needs to make moves to get something going with this team before they fall further, they just have no spark going for them and have guys in the lineup providing absolutely nothing for them on a daily basis. He has a bunch of prospects, and there are teams that may start looking to move salary sooner rather then later, so he needs to either use them or move them to make this team better. Get rid of Madrigal, send Busch to Iowa and let him work on his hitting more, he just isn't ready, same with Amaya. Hoyer needs to shake up the roster and go find guys that can help the offense and bullpen. They have very good SP now, and it being wasted due to a horrible offense and inconsistent bullpen.
  8. Simple solution, get rid of Madrigal, there your 40 man spot and he can be your bench guy.
  9. Angel Hernandez retired.... Wonder if he was gonna face discipline or something to be suspended or fired.
  10. Why they should probably sell and then play guys like Caissie, and PCA to see what they have in them and then actually go after a star in offseason . This group here, maybe they luck into a WC spot but it not a group that going to grow together and contend going forward.
  11. Does it matter ? Seriously he's no loss if they just released him.
  12. Most likely .. He has 1 more year left on his contract, so he will likely be back but him getting another extension will depend on this and next season outcome.
  13. We gonna see another fake rally where they finally score a couple runs here and leave the tying run on deck. 🙄🙄
  14. Right, I blame Jed for the crap roster before I would blame CC for playing the guys he has. I'd blame the players for their performance before I'd blame CC
  15. They're basically the same players as last year, so mirroring pretty much what they did last season isnt much of a surprise
  16. 😅😅😅😅 Just waiting for Steele to be pulled Back to 500 today...
  17. Glad Madrigal was at 3B for that grounder 🙄🙄🙄
  18. Curious, if there a way to find out but I haven't really been like dam I'm glad Madrigal playing 3B on that ball because I don't think Morel or whomever else would of made that play. 🤷‍♂️
  19. I look at the Cubs hitters and don't expect much of a change for the better. Sure a couple of these guys will be better then they have been but overall this looks like a group that will look good at times and then look like crap more often then not. This team will be as good as the SP can carry them and without being able to score runs plus with a shaky bullpen, the SP has to be just about perfect to keep them in games and give them a chance to win.
  20. Those were 3 competitive AB there 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🙄
  21. Cool, fake 9th inning rally Cubs will be under 500 by end of week
  22. If he stayed in Baseline he runs into Arenado ( he didn't have ball yet) and then probably called safe for interference.
