Be kind of dumb for TR to give him an extension now and then tell him not to do anything worthwhile to improve the team. Might as well just not extend him, then just let this roster play out and hire a new front office to do whatever in the offseason.

Exactly, sometimes a manager has to push a starter or a reliever to go a little longer to avoid using more of his bullpen later. Cant tax them all in one game, then they'll be stuck tomorrow with pushing a starter to go longer in a close game.

Yea, it sucks cause in most cases this season getting him 3 runs is enough but for him to be able to grind out 5 so far and save the pen for tomorrow is big.

Imanaga is Imanaga, youll get alot of really good starts from him and a blowup here and there. Boyd in his 11th season is having a career year and obviously is questionable on how much longer he can continue, hopefully it the whole year. Rea has had some good starts but not someone you wanna hang your hat on as a starter. Taillon career has been good in even years and bad in odd ones, so it not surprise this season hasn't been great with him. Then there's the young guys So yea, theyre not a good staff on paper, they have had lots of good starts and held their own to help get the team where theyre at but without adding someone who can be that game changer in the rotation, not sure how deep this rotation of guys can get them in the postseason.

Yep, im sure the Brewers manager has already decided this kid going to throw 90-100 pitches today since he only threw 64 in his last start. Boyd gonna really need to get it together and hold them for a couple more innings

40 pitch inning, he only threw 64 pitches in his last start, if hes on a short pitch count. There's no way hes going more then 3 innings. Great start by the Cubs

This is good to show stability in the organization now. This also could be a precursor to getting an extension done with Tucker and possibly PCA but mainly Tucker now, and getting him signed now could allow Jed to move outfield prospects in trades. Who knows maybe Tucker said he wouldn't negotiate with them without having stability in the FO first, now they do. 🤷♂️
