  1. Reds traded with Dodgers for Lux https://x.com/JeffPassan/status/1876404857613213805?t=ubi0Az5YgiS7CohzO95dUQ&s=19
  2. Yeah, I realized that after I sent and deleted the question. Thanks
  3. Cubs are going to be in the mix for everyone mainly because of the money they have left to spend, problem is that they usually have the worse offer of teams involved
  4. Dodgers getting them all, Sasaki will probably go there too. https://x.com/mlbtraderumors/status/1875264212915622396?t=9KHK14zYMHr1YZsbcP9xBw&s=19
  5. This will be interesting, hopefully the Cubs can get him, they probably gave the C or D offer. He'd be perfect to fill in for Hoerner and utility player, can play LF too. https://x.com/Wesley11798/status/1875099643471958196?t=iCnlKCeCg9xWOntG9e1FVg&s=19
  6. If Hoerner goes onto the IL for an extended period of time, then there's a chance they add another bench guy. Otherwise Kelly the backup catcher... Workman a rule 5 selection... Brujan was just traded for... Canario, Caissie, Alcantara are the OF depth, i guess they can add a veteran OFer and leave these guys in Iowa til needed. Zastryzny, Thielbar, and Morgan were just added to the pen this offseason and Pearson and Miller were traded for during season. Hodge, Merryweather, and Thompson as part of the pen They added 4 other guys for depth in Iowa to go along with the ones already there, so I'd be surprise if they go and bring in another reliever outside of adding more depth in AAA or AA. If they do get another SP, then Asssad will take a bullpen spot and move one off to be depth in Iowa. I hope I'm wrong too because I always want to see roster upgrades, but unless Hoyer has a multi player trade up his sleeve with current rostered players, I don't see the opening to add more players to the current active roster.
  7. As of now here is what Hoyer has basically done this off season. Tucker for Bellinger Shaw for Paredes Boyd for Hendricks Kelly, Workman, Brujan, Canario For Bethencourt, Mastrobuoni, Wisdom, Tauchman Zastryzny, Morgan, Thielbar For Neris, Smyly, Leiter Outside of hopefully adding another SP, whether it Sasaki or another and then they can move Assad to the bullpen, I think their roster is set. They may have 40+ mil left to spend but the bulk of that wont be spent this offseason on adding new players to the roster that also currently has the 40 man filled and still have to remove one to add Shaw and possibly another to add a new SP.
  8. You just quoted me above that he would want a team that could guarentee him 400 AB as tge Cubs couldn't
  9. Yeah, he'd likely want the guarenteed ABs and have a legit Shot at the postseason.
  10. Maybe on a SP if they don't get Sasaki but other then that, I don't see them adding anyone that would cost over 10 mil per. Any additional bullpen arms they might add will likely be like the ones they have added, low cost 1-2 yr deals or minor league deal. Same with any additional bench players they might add for depth. I wouldn't be surprise if they don't spend any more then an additional 20-25 mil and that only if they add another SP outside of Sasaki. Personally for the bench if he becomes available, I wouldn’t mind adding Justin Turner on a 1 yr deal. I know he 40 but he'd be perfect for what they need , a solid veteran who can play both corner infield positions, and he can DH some .
  11. Lol
  12. A Hoyer move if they don't get Sasaki would be to offer Verlander or Scherzer a 1 year 25 mil deal (which would eat up money) and then hope to flip them at the deadline while eating some of the money owed.
  13. With half the guys in the pen that didn't start the season on the OD roster 😅
  14. Because the good guys want years and some money, the fix type will take a low cost, 1-2 year deal to try and get their value up for a better payday or just hanging on to continue getting a paycheck.
  15. Never said they wouldn't add anyone, I did say they wouldn't add a "big bat" unless they traded someone like Bellinger, Suzuki, or Happ. So no getting Tucker didn't mess up my prediction. I also said they should trade Paredes and they did. You all need to stop thinking like we have an owner and POBO/GM that looking to add whatever it takes to compete and win every year despite what they tell us, and start actually thinking like Hoyer and how he goes about adding players under Rickett. Look at the 17 position players on the current 40 man roster, Swanson and Tucker are the only FA on there that cost some money. Everyone else came cheap or homegrown. That infield depth makes me wanna puke..lol
  16. Telling you, we won't see any real good signing or addition to the team outside of hopefully Sasaki, who won't cost much if he chooses the Cubs. Hoyer going to add minor league signings and 1 year deals to guys that will mostly be for depth off the bench and Bullpen. The roster as is, is pretty much set for ST Theilbar a good sign for the pen, he had a bad 2024 but overall he's been decent.
  17. Arb raises, paying players no longer with team, extensions, 1-3 yr deals Cubs will always have a couple players making around 25 per, and the rest of payroll will be spread out amongst other different situations that adds up.
  18. If they get Sasaki, that would just allow them to move Assad to the bullpen and use him there and as a spot starter. He would make the pen much stronger. They won't need to go and add another SP, as they have plenty of depth in AAA in case of injury. I know they are approximately 45-50 mil under the LT now, i think that should be used more towards any possible extension and or trade deadline additions that will allow them to take on a bigger size contract if needed to add a top tier player.
  19. Yep, i think for the most part their position players are set, maybe they add another depth piece or two. Meanwhile, they wait on Sasaki decision, and probably look to add more pitching depth for the bullpen.
  20. Cubs traded Mervis to the Marlins for their 2Bmen to start season while Hoerner recovers on IL.
  21. Not now but they will eventually... They invested so they can turn a huge billion dollars profit when they do decide to sell
  22. They spend, it just that they're spending on some bad contracts and not getting the performance for the money.
  23. Eventually they will, probably within 10 years, but not now.
  24. Amaya, Busch, ?(Hoerner IL), Swanson, Shaw, Happ, PCA, Tucker Suzuki, Kelly, Workman, ?, ? Imanaga, Steele, Taillon, Boyd, Assad Hodge, Miller, Pearson, Morgan, Merryweather, Zastryzny, ?, ? Bullpen, Bench, and a Sasaki hope or a mid/backend starter
