  1. Bullpen just got alot better, wouldn't mind seeing them add another lefty besides just having Theilbar.
  2. I mean offers as in money or trade offers, I'm sure or hope he has their ear in letting them know he's interested or seeing if they're interested in making a deal.
  3. He'll definitely be waiving it to go back to Houston..lol

  6. I dont see Hoyer as a "this is a guy we want no matter what type" and negotiate til it settled. I definitely don't see him having multiple offers on the table at once. He seems to me like a GM who if interested or gets a call, will make his offer and then just sit and waits til he gets a response back and see if they can work out an agreement with player A first before moving to player B, and i think it mainly because he has to make sure of the money part of the deal so he knows what he has available after each agreement.
  7. That fine, he only here for 1 season. Hodge can work his way into that role as a set up guy and either take over later this season or next season.. Pressly just moves everyone else down a slot and probably knocks out Merryweather.
  8. Wife wants him to stay home 😵‍💫😅
  9. Or, it could just be the Astros are waiting on Bregman decision, isn't that the reason they're trying to clear money?
  10. Wake me when a deal is made, mlb is the worse when it comes to offseason FA signings and trades because of the million and one rumors and speculations before anything is actually official.
  11. Cubs checking in on Scherzer, likely just to see if he's worth a 1 year deal 🤷‍♂️ https://x.com/ragazzoreport/status/1882804186716508388?t=N5cNUJoNNt3KlWPpE9eVmA&s=19
  12. Getting him or not waiving?
  13. I dont know, if Hoyer doesn't have any real moves to make to upgrade the roster before OD besides what he has added so far, I'll be surprise if this team wins 85 games. Bench has very little power and I'm not sure how much of an upgrade if much it is over last season bench. Tucker and Boyd are the biggest additions. Tucker is great but it kinda reminds me a bit of when they added Dawson in 1987 coming off a 70 win season and didn't really go get much else, and despite him having an MVP season, they only won 76 games. Shaw - Paredes Tucker - Bellinger Kelly - Gomes Workman - Mastrobuoni Berti - Wisdom Canario - Tauchman Boyd - Hendricks Hodge - Neris Rea - Smyly Morgan Theilbar
  14. Theyre good players but not great, and having them cemented for the next 2 years now, could hold back the younger OF prospects and also keep them from adding a stud in the OF via FA or trade next offseason. Only reason they were able to go after Tucker was because they traded Bellinger. Also, them being below market value hasn't really allowed Hoyer add a star player at other positions of substantial cost, it just helps keep them under the Threshold with the other low cost players they have.
  15. Giving Happ and Suzuki NTC could end up biting this team in the ass, only good thing is both Alcantara and Caissie are just 22 now.
  16. The top 5 available now is.. Yates, Robertson, Farmer, Estevez, Jansen Chafin and Raley could still be in the mix as cheaper options on 1 year deal.
  17. Is Jed saying the Cubs arent run like a great organization...lol https://x.com/BNightengale/status/1881012695752954026?t=NO031TCxLSAA6-jODBRWRw&s=19
  18. Dodgers will probably extend him for 10 years if he's that good
  19. Tanner Scott have to be the guy they wrap up for the closer spot.
  20. Here what I'd like to see Hoyer do before ST starts up. Sign Tanner Scott to close Add a veteran utility player with HR power Id like to see another SP added but I'm ok with seeing how Assad or one of their other prospect does and if needed, they can address another SP come the trade deadline.
  21. Maybe they'll be willing to trade one
  22. Like my discussions with Rcal, I really believe they were just hoping for Sasaki but are ok with going with the 5 they have and with the depth they have to start the season with. If they're in contention come July, then they can pursue a SP and will likely have more then enough money under the Threshold to acquire a good one that a money dump for a team and not have to give up top prospects or multiple of them to acquire.
