  1. Ok, well we agree on Kingery, so that leaves Conforto and Carlson, and as I originally said, I really doubt both or at least one of those two will be around through June. I understand your stance that Alcantara and Long will only be up via an injury, I dont think that'll be the case for Alcantara.
  2. Storm looking to arrive in the 4 o clock hour Get a lead and hold onto it
  3. Bet by no later then mid June, all 3 or at least 2 of Conforto Kingery and Carlson will not be on the Cubs roster.
  4. Letssss Goooo!!! Shaw gets the nod in RF today Power guys hitting 1 and 2, the speed guys hitting 4 and 5, new era of baseball... 😅😅😅
  5. That what im expecting to happen, at some point Alcantara, Long, and or someone else will play their way up to the roster, and even Austin will be back. I know Conforto, Kingery, and Carlson aren't gonna get much PT, especially in April, but just feel like theyll fail more often then not when given the opportunity and the others will come up and get their chances.
  6. Ok, but then that leaves Shaw as the only backup Infielder, at least Kingery can play IF and OF. I personally dont think either of the 3, Conforto Kingery or Carlson will last pass May/June on main roster, as i have my doubts with what theyll provide offensively but given what they have now for the bench, id think when Suzuki returns they'd go with Conforto as the 4th OFer and Kingery/Shaw as IF/OF backups.
  7. Wouldn't Carlson be gone when Seiya returns, and Conforto will be the OF bench guy Does anyone know if Steele 60 day IL is retroactive to an earlier date? I figured with his early return to getting himself back to baseball shape, hed be ready to go by May.
  8. PCA right now is the only one under contract for 2031 and 32, his 30 mil will start right after Bregman 35 ends, and he will still be in his prime years. Hoyer will have a good opportunity to build around PCA for those years with the upcoming Prospects, current young players under team control now, and future FA.
  9. I got the years right... lol Didn't expect it to be less then 20 per, but him getting another shot at FA at 31 is good for him, and adding 2 more years without any options is good for the Cubs.
  10. Not sure exactly how these extensions work.. Maybe not for this season and he's playing at whatever it is, I think it 790 K, but aren’t they buying out the remaining 4 Arb years(27-30) with the extension and he plays under the new contract salary?
  11. Im gonna guess this deal will be something like 6 yrs with an opt out in the 7th year, for around 22.5 per. It'll cover his remaining 4 Arb years, with 2-3 extra years, giving him an opportunity to test the FA market after he turns 29 or 30 if he opts in.
  12. Cubs and PCA agree to long extension
  13. Horton with another good start and the regulars looked good with the bats, let get this season started
  14. Yikes, Boyd got lit up by Reds tonight 9 hits 8 runs in 4.2 innings Taillon gave up 3 in the 5th I sure hope our starters dont horsefeathers the bed to begin the season
  15. This has been all spring, outside of maybe two games that Cohen did. But youre right, it pretty stupid to have your own network but use the opposing team broadcast to show games this spring. I dont know when Boog and JD contract is up, I hope soon because call me old fashion, but I prefer familiarity and consistency with my team broadcast booth and want them for all games not half.
  16. Theres 2 open spots for 2027 Theyll have Steele, Horton, and Cabrera returning. Im sure Wiggins will get an opportunity to take a spot, especially if he takes a step forward this season. Brown might just end up being a long reliever/spot starter for the cubs next year and could be a trade piece at the deadline. Maybe they can use Taillon and Imanaga money towards Skubal, or Gallen, Flaherty if they return to form
  17. Good first 2 innings by Taillon... Hopefully he has a good clean game tonight and will be ready to go against the Angels in his next start.
  18. This ST is weird because of WBC and Cubs having multiple regulars playing in it. So, most of their games are played by guys that will either be on their bench, AAA, or released soon. Rojas, Kingery, Shaw, McCormick, Carlson, Triantos, Alcantara all lead the Cubs with 30-45 AB this spring. It almost like Counsell was holding a ST tryout for the bench lol
