  1. They were a couple big hits away from hitting that number already 😅
  2. That just it, as I have mentioned it too soon for any real significant trade for a true quality starter or even bullpen guy, nobody trading those guys now unless Hoyer really over pays for one, which unless it a Skenes type we don't want that to happen. Just need to hang tight and hope the hitters can continue to bail them out when needed and or pitching can hold up and not totally fall apart til July when these deals can be made to upgrade. Just tough with 3 mid starters, and 2 raw rookies now. Bullpen that inconsistent for most part.
  3. Id like to see Busch play every game too, especially for his glove. Just think it just that Turner is their main bench guy and it more about getting him his AB to stay fresh and the best way to do it is subbing for Busch against most lefties.
  4. Not saying he is, just that it was likely their plan going into the season against most or tougher lefties. 🤷‍♂️
  5. Isn't this why they added Turner (RH bat) to get these starts against lefties
  6. He'll be the one going down with Horton staying up when Imanaga returns
  7. Mentioned the other day, I know it too soon for a significant trade but damn it going to be tough winning games going forward til July with this rotation and bullpen. Be great but these bats just aren't going to keep scoring 5+ to bail them out
  8. Hope everyone enjoyed that 2 run lead, it now a 2 run deficit 🙄 Already hit that number 4 and it just the first inning
  9. PCA with a whiffle ball single 😅 Damn Nico give him a chance to steal a base
  10. We'll never know, but at least there he could of worked on adjusting or whatever he needed to do before returning, like I showed he was struggling some before he got hurt. No real time to adjust once your back and all it did was continue his struggle. Yes, now that he is back, dropping him in order can't hurt, maybe it takes a little pressure off him and he can see the pitcher for a few batters before hitting. Hopefully today a good day for him, they need him, especially now with both catchers down.
  11. After yesterday, he's 3 for 19 with 9 Ks. He was 2 for his last 17 with 9 Ks before he got hurt. He definitely wasn't ready yet, could of used a couple games in Iowa before returning. Getting a typical game in Cincinnati from him today would be nice.
  12. Damn, who cursed the Catchers this weekend. Gonna need the top of order to do some damage today, maybe McGuire will have one of those wasn't supposed to play but ended up getting a big hit or two for them today.
  13. Magic number has been 4 runs allowed so far this season, keep them 4 or less they obviously have a great chance to win, when giving up 5+ they are 7 and 7. Be nice if Brown can give them a quality start today and the offense strikes early with a few runs for him.
  14. Biggest cause for oblique strains is heavy lifting such as weights which is a big norm for athletes these days. add that to all the normal twisting, throwing motions, and bending a baseball player does every day and boom it due to happen more now. Same with the hamstring issues, Compared to way back in the day when Athletes just mostly stretched, did light lifting, and ran to stay fit, these guys now do some heavy lifting which builds up muscles but increases the chance of strains and pulls if they're not stretched out enough to deal with all the movements they do in games.
  15. He's gone... https://x.com/Cubs/status/1926347009914450410?t=qYXfnWLs-YSiKEY_YT91JQ&s=19
  16. If or When Hoyer looks to trade for a SP, my guess it'll be for someone that either in last year of contract or only has a year left. Likely will be owed around 10 mil or alot less for remainder of season when they get him. Hoyer should be looking at possible available closers/late innings guys from teams under 500 when they get into June.
  17. Theyll likely want pitching prospects in return and if they're willing to trade him to a divisional team, plus he's under team control for 4 more years, it gonna cost. Id trade Brown, Wicks, and ??
  18. 11 runs in last 3 innings when it was looking bleak... 🤣😅
  19. He gets to pick and choose when he wants to work lol.. I hope they just give Cohen the job full time next year
