  1. Sitting mid 90's is a big diff from touching mid 90's like the reports from the winter say
  2. This is clearly a guy that they think they can Pitch Lab up, because on the surface he seems to be pretty meh
  3. He's been red hot since basically mid June. Honestly just about every bat in the system got off to a slow start. I don't know how fair it is to just yell "Pandemic" and pretend May didn't happen though.
  4. I think you're grossly overrating the value of a comp pick? For a big market team like the Cubs, it's going to come in at approximately pick #70. At that point you're looking at, by FG methodology, a 40 FV guy (Org Top 30 type). The Rangers in this deal got two guys of that caliber, plus a 45 (Org Top 10 type) and a 50 FV (Overall Top 100). I mean Andrew Chafin netted out well north of a comp pick, KB certainly will.
  5. About a week ago, Jeff Passan wrote this I'd guess KB's only a smidge more valuable than Starling Marte. So while the shape may be wildly different, that set the market IMO.
  6. Marte is gonna be a solid barometer for what KB should bring back.
  7. Looks like he will be a starter in the next few weeks. I'm definitely interested to see how he does, same with Steele.
  8. Yeah, I think the absolute best case scenario for this type of guy is Jesse Winker, with Seth Smith being the likely outcome. Suddenly we've got a lot of LHH OFers who you might not trust for full time duty but are probably the strong half of a platoon: Happ Heyward Ortega Deichman Rivas With Davis coming on fast, I feel like you could probably add a really good RHH OFer this winter (Tommy Pham?) and consider the outfield set. God knows exactly how it shakes out, but there's enough quality that it will.
  9. He's probably just a strong side platoon bat...but also might be one hell of one? http://www.minorleaguesplits.com/mls/cgi-bin/player.cgi?player=656364/Greg-Deichmann Vs Left - .186/.279/.288, 11.8% BB 32.4% K Vs Right - .345/.487/.515, 21.7% BB 19.6% K
  10. Deichman is number 9 in their system by both MLB.com and Fangraphs', and could probably come up and play in MLB tomorrow. A little old but that's fun.
  11. Really good point here RE Kantrovitz. I'll be a lot more okay with seemingly lesser names in this deal than I'd likely be otherwise.
  12. Really curious what he and Tepera net at. I'd guess a 45 FV via the Fangraphs' prospect parlance (an Org Top 10 caliber)
  13. Eno's not a rumor guy but he's very well respected but also this wording is really ambiguous?
