  1. horsefeathers the Cardinals, Go Brewers
  2. Tired of the excuses. What was the last QB that was so terrible in his first 15 games that at some point reached his full potential value? I can't think of any. Goff and Wentz were pretty bad in their first ~15 starts, right? Wentz struggled by the end of his rookie year but he for sure showed flashes at some points during that season that showed he might be something. Goff is a good comparison but he got off to a great start in his 2nd year (including a 292 yard, 3 TD game in week 3) and never looked back. Do people think Trubisky is close to turning the corner, because I don't.

  4. Chase Daniel, 2nd half
  5. At what point do they go to Chase Daniel this season or are we going to watch the Bears hand a 5-11 pick over to the Raiders because of the QB
  6. QB1 is gonna cost this team a playoff spot
  7. Remember what's happened the next time people are getting all hot-and-bothered to sign someone in their pre-arb years to a mega-extension. I’d still sign KB to a “mega extension” through his age 33/34 seasons (FA at age 31) in a heartbeat. The two times this FO has done it, it has at least worked out with Rizzo and Strop. Doubt Boras is agreeing to anything like that but didn't the Cubs sign Rizzo after his down-year?
  8. If you’re bothered by Murphy, just don’t root for him. It would have been a great disservice if the Cubs decided not to improve their team and give them a better shot at winning a World Series because of a guy’s opinion. Some people think it’s more important that all fans are able to enjoy the sport without tremendous internal conflict than their favorite team making some marginal improvement to the playoff roster. Maybe. Those people also still celebrate the 2016 World Series which they don’t win without Aroldis Chapman. So in the end, winning is going to cure all even though it might feel gross to some.
  9. I am going to go ahead and commit NSBB suicide with my first post and ask why everyone cares so much about what athletes do? I mean we all watch these guys because they are really really good at baseball, not because they are heros or better people, right? Specifically with Murphy, I don't like him or anything he's said regarding homosexuality, but I'd rather he's hitting for us in the playoffs than the opposing team. Does that somehow make me a scumbag too? I don't know that it makes you a scumbag...I don't know you or your beliefs, but I'd question why you care about sports more than the lives of those that are affected by the "opinions" of others. This is an Athletic article, so you may not be able to read it if you're not a subscriber, but Daniel Murphy's horsefeathers opinions have an affect on people...maybe not you, but others. https://theathletic.com/494008/2018/08/29/a-lesbians-guide-to-rooting-for-the-cubs-with-daniel-murphy/ So people with the ability to put themselves in the shoes of others recognize that these issues are far more important than baseball. If you’re bothered by Murphy, just don’t root for him. It would have been a great disservice if the Cubs decided not to improve their team and give them a better shot at winning a World Series because of a guy’s opinion.
  10. It doesn't matter that Murphy isn't leading the "horsefeathers" competition. He's still competing in it. Agree 100%. I watch sports for entertainment, not to be friends with these players. Baseball is full of straight, white, Christian men from the South, you’re completely ignorant if you think Daniel Murphy is the only dude in baseball that disagrees with the gay lifestyle. My guess is there’s more than just him on the Cubs.
  11. Murphy doesn’t belong in the same universe as the other two. It's not a competition. He's a garbage person, and the Cubs knew it. So because a guy has different opinions than you, that makes him a shitty person? I 100% disagree with Murphy but it’s his opinion. And my guess is, he’s far from the only one on the Cubs that disagrees with the gay lifestyle.
  12. Murphy doesn’t belong in the same universe as the other two.
  13. How many more starts does Mitch need before he looks like Mayfield
  14. Love to see our franchise QB check down on 3rd and 13
  15. Are these the 2008 Bears?
  16. Literally any combination they can put on there will look terrible given who isn't hitting
  17. Aroldis Chapman isn't walking through that door
  18. The hurricane is hitting at least 300 miles South of DC and not until well after they leave
  19. Schwarber was used Whelp, don’t I look stupid. But I did t watch this game. So it evens out: They put in Schwarber to start the inning, Brewers went to Hader, Bote came in for Schwarber and promptly struck out. You could argue they should have saved Schwarber but I'm wondering if the Brewers go to Hader either way.
