Signed David Murphy to replace Eric Thames in the lineup due to getting hit in the face with a batted ball yesterday. Also signed Jason Motte to replace Venters who is fatigued. I believe both of these moves are okay based on the expanded playoff rosters? Both these players will be released on the 29th.

Dropped C.Young due to wrist issue. Moved E.Thames from U to OF and promoted D.Viciedo from minors to play U.

This one was already resolved by league vote. 9 owners in favor, 2 not and 3 said nothing. Are you confusing this with your other league? We have 16 owners in this league (you accounted for 14) and, although we've discussed this from time to time, I don't recall a formal vote (that doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't one; I could have forgotten about it). viewtopic.php?f=24&t=59724 Typo on the 3....should have been 5. My other league has 16 teams as well.

I would agree with this. Roster should be "frozen" to some extent at the end of the regular season. Maybe we should be allowed to expand rosters for the playoffs?

Looks like I am going to have some tough pitching matchups next week. I'm hoping something happens to switch up the DBack's rotation to bump Saunders back one start. It would make a difference of him pitching at the Rockies or home vs the Padres.

That's my recollection too. that's not my recollection at all. i mean, i think it's kind of a dick move to pick up FA that are actually playing right now if you're out of it, but i don't see why it shouldn't be allowed. and if someone drops someone you'd want to keep, i don't know why you shouldn't be able to. I know we had the discussion last year, I just have no idea what the ruling on it was. I think we had said there was to be no picking up players if you were out of it but I could easily be wrong. I went back through threads from the past two seasons and could not find a discussion on this, unless I missed it.

It makes it dumber using division record as a tiebreaker. I don't really see how it would effect H2H. You either play a team once or twice during the season. How does an unbalanced schedule effect H2H? Like I just posted though I would like to see a balanced schedule. instead of h2h being based on two weeks (which is already a very small sample), it could be based on one week (ie if the 2 teams tied only played each other once). As it's been said before though, there is no perfect system.

I agree with this. I also agree we should have a balanced schedule. I will volunteer to do this if no one else will. I do this for my other league as well.

I think between two teams the first tiebreaker should be H2H and the second tiebreaker should be totals points in their matchups against each other. In three way ties go H2H if you can then go with total points. If H2H isn't your first tiebreaker then there really isn't any point of having a H2H league. this line of thinking makes no sense to me. it's a h2h league because we play each other every week. it's just as much a "points" league since that's how you win head to head matchups. So then what's the point? If it was a points league then the standings would be based on points, not record on H2H matchups. How can you call it a "win" in a H2H matchup if at the end of the season you throw that out and say even though you won the H2H matchup it doesn't count because your opponent that you are tied with scored more points during the entire season? To me, that makes no sense.

Unfortunately it's nothing that underhanded. I'm on vacation for about 11 days and it's near impossible to manage one's team on an iPhone. Need a PC/Mac and I'm traveling around some fairly remote parts of Queensland, so I don't have one. BTW Bob....enjoying the pictures. Great stuff!
