  1. I'm just really intrigued by Franklin. He feels like a guy who will slug better in the majors under the right tutelage. He has been a well above average hitter at every single stop and "power" feels like the only notable yellow flag but it's a misnomer because he is hitting the ball hard over half the time.
  2. He largely dominates with just 2 fastballs and a change. He only throws his slider 12% and his curve 2%. Since the start of 2023 he has pitched 362 innings and has just 58 walks and 25 HR allowed. Goodness.
  3. It's interesting that he has 2 dongs hit way below the zone but none in the bottom third where you would expect his swing to do major damage... He has also hit a handful of shots to the CF warning track. He really has geared his swing for major slug.
  4. Well they got it done but I need more offense. I dont know why they are struggling to adjust but they're not walking or doing the grindy thing anymore. Most of their runs are coming from homers.
  5. After the K, too. What the horsefeathers, Keller of all people.
  6. Alcantara has been good for 2 starts and is pretty much expected to go at the deadline or close to it from what I have read. They're not gonna move him at a low valuation; he has 8 starts left before the deadline to build that up. I had not looked at his stuff numbers and his repertoire has been nasty as ever, just missing the command, which appears to be coming back.
  7. So what are the characteristics of this dude's fastball? It's 93.7 and he throws it 65%. Effectively they had him nearly scrap his slider in favor of increasing his fb usage by 20%. It must have insane IVB or something. Jason?
  8. Franklin and Mo each with 3 walks. Talk about setting the table.
  9. From what I have read, the kick-change is a pretty easy pitch to learn. Brown just seems reticent to use it as much as he maybe should. They should probably tinker with his fastball. It doesn't grade well and gets clobbered.
  10. Yes please. I would not bet on his talent getting to us but he'd be a major addition. Feels like he will hit for more power than expected. From a WAR perspective, he appears to have a high floor and ceiling with the 80 spd and solid defense.
  11. And extremely uncompetitive in the deciding games. Irritating AF.
  12. Busch should have taken that AB for Turner and they should get PCA in there too. Try to win the game, why not.
  13. We continue to put up miserable efforts in rubber matches vs likely playoff opponents. Just roll over and play dead. By my count, we took 1 vs LAD, 2 vs CIN (probably not making playoffs but they're in the mix as of now), and that's it. In all such series' rubber matches they scored 4 vs LAD, 2 vs SD, 1 vs PHI, 1 vs SF, 2 vs NYM, 11 vs CIN, 7 vs CIN, 0 vs DET, and TBD vs PHI.
  14. That was a curve right in the heart but yeah, that fastball is erratic
