    Trevathan can't stay healthy and there's a Trevathan in every free agency period. There is almost never a Mack caliber FA available. There's no possible way, if I were Pace, that I would let Trevathan be a sticking point. We also just drafted Smith and Iggy, so we could afford to move him if need be. That said I doubt it's Trevathan going to Oak anyway. But if it were, I put the probability of getting a 2 or a 3 back at close to zero.

    Since August 1, the Cardinals have gone 16-4. So sure, if you want to extrapolate that out and say the Cardinals will play .800 ball the rest of the year, it'll be tough for us to get the 97 wins we would need to win the division. We'd have to go 26-12, by the way, which is entirely possible. But it absolutely won't be necessary. Yeah this is likely at the end of our bad run and the cardinals good run. I still have scars from 2004 though when the Astros played like .900 ball the last month of the season and never eased up while we plodded along and finished several games back. I've been trying not to go there but this year is starting to feel like that year

    Acuna is going off over the last 2 weeks. ISO up to 288. The best age-20 seasons I can recall are ARod, Pujols, and Trout. He has a higher ISO than all of them.

    If nothing else he's likely as good as Hendricks when Hendricks is on, and lately, Hendricks has been on. So, that's 2 pitchers probably a small notch below surefire ace. Really great acquisition.

    I think you just kind of live with the walks if he racks up Ks and GB like he is this year. He's probably a guy who won't truly click in the majors for another season or two but once he does he will put up top set-up guy numbers. This is the 2nd straight year he's striking out 15 per 9.

    Swarmer's numbers are very sexy, although he is a fly ball pitcher. But that's 104 IP now this year with a 114:17 KBB and 6 HR allowed. Not bad at all for a 584th pick just 2 years ago.
