  1. Wasn't there a team semi recently that fired their manager when they were in first place in August? If not, can we be the first?
  2. Like the prospect Almora who would miss games to nagging injuries, made contact but not show much in the way of secondary skills, got most of his hype on being a Theo First Rounder, hit his best early and in leagues wherever everyone else hit too, but otherwise really just needed time to develop. So the mediocre starter we hoped Almora to be before he collapsed I do think Hoerner's a marginally better prospect than that, stronger and he's hitting flyballs this year that can translate. Still, just looks like the ceiling is a second division starter whose most valuable attributes to the Cubs are in his prospect ranking, proximity to the MLs compared to their more talented prospects, and contract status Your M.O. seems to be to downplay every prospect getting national recognition and to attempt to unearth the hidden gems in the system so you can prop yourself up when/if they become names. You go on and on about prospect K rates and Nico has just one in his last 65 PAs but not a mention. Hes hitting very well in a tough league and hes suffered injuries but not actually of the 'nagging' variety, IMO; those to me are muscle pulls, strains, etc, not actual breaks in bones from getting hit by balls. Almora took a 2nd tour through AA to finally crack the 7% walk threshold; the first time through he took 2 in 140 PA, albeit at the ripe age of 21. But nobody in their right mind would compare their level of patience/ discipline. Nico is a year removed from being drafted and his numbers are likely to blow up in a juiced league. You want us to care about Faustino Carrera reaching 300 innings but make no mention of him being in his 4th season in the system at 20 years old; something you've basically used as your platform for tearing down the Marquez hype... and Marquez reached that height first btw. No mention of it being of particular note. I mean, come on.
  3. Long is a [expletive]. I'm hoping there's a solid post camp cap casualty that the Bears can bring in and just cut bait. Hes not worth his salary anymore. Dude has played 26 games over the last 3 years.
  4. Sick and tired of seeing this buffoon on bended knee
  5. I swear Rizzo has stopped swinging at fastballs only to ramp up his aggressiveness against curves barreling toward the dirt
  6. I am still pissed about the destruction Suarez has wrought on us but it pales in comparison to that. That said I was looking at Suarez stats and hes hit half of his HR against us and the Brewers. Take his numbers vs the other 28 teams and hes like 220/300/400.
  7. Don’t poke the troll. What if I added that from last July to current (+/- full seasons worth of PAs, 554) he’s at .238/.272/.352 61 wRC+. Have you ever had a nightmare about Albert Almora?
  8. Maybe hed be atrocious at 1B but I'm horsefeathering glad the Dodgers traded that behemoth
  9. Kyle is really not good on the road this year and it sucks
  10. At this point I'm hoping he breaks the single game record today. JFC.
  11. Szymborski's post is aging real well. Cubs are gonna cough up their advantage in a jiffy.
  12. It's so obvious that Bryant should be our leadoff hitter. Been obvious for 3 seasons.
  13. Javy kind of killed all of our rallies tonight unfortunately
  14. I'm mad at Nagy's gameplan because my dad has been angry texting way too much tonight
  15. He's doubled in 9 straight games, which is the new MLB record. It was his 11th MLB game. Also 4 dongs Making up for Vlad being a dud for 3 months
  16. Not sure why they went with another fastball
  17. Chatwood has been really good since the calendar flipped to July. Used sparingly but the numbers are really nice.
