  1. If you want to squint to find something under the hood (the KBB is not bad at all), he does have an above average chase rate and his contact against if he qualified would put him in the top 60 among RP. His change has graded well and they've talked about needing a RP that can get LH out, so... maybe they're just hoping with experience he fills that void.
  2. Miller got to stand on a base for like 2 minutes ha
  3. The Brewers suck, them handing the Reds some losses this week puts us in a spot to really widen the gap this weekend over the Reds and really not worry about them again. Lol Seriously you guys have been pushing this bs since 2017. And even if they are not as good as their record indicates, we look like total dogshit against their pitching (so chalk up several more Ws for them from that alone) and their pen locks down 1 run wins consistently. They are going to be a top 3 team in the division, not the Reds IMO.
  4. Leave it to the Brewers to solve Bauer. I hate that horsefeathering team.
  5. These guys suck at managing a roster. Alternatively, the guy with no professional innings and the guy with a career 1:1 K/BB ratio, neither of whom have pitched competitively in 6-12 months, are not great bets to step right into major league relief roles. The Cubs are deploying 2 guys that you can say that about, and another 2 that are on the precipice IMO And pitchers get super fast tracked like that sometimes. I just dont feel that there is much at stake to let one of them take one of these career minor leaguers spot before they go into a razor-thin highly competitive trade market.
  6. Mooney says the Cubs are too chickenshit to use Marquez or Carraway this season. These guys suck at managing a roster.
  7. The Sox almost hit as many HR in that series than the Cards have hit (albeit in a shorter season than the rest of the teams have had) all season
  8. Polanco with the go-ahead HR off of Phelps in the bottom of the 8th
  9. Abreu has tied Ian Happ's Cubs lead for HR in 3 games
  10. Much better result than the walk we was really trying to give you, Tony
  11. He is all over the place. Don't get yourselves out.
  12. We draw some walks and slug some HR but this team can't horsefeathering hit. And Abreu hits the hat trick. This series has been depressing.
  13. Well at least the Ks weren't swinging... or something.
  14. Our guys salivate at that changeup or the sinker on the outer half. We like to make sure the SS stay sharp! I really feel like we lead the league in roll-over grounders.
  15. The Cubs are the only team in baseball with an oppo rate under 20 and they are actually at 18.7 so the gap is pretty large. They have the 4th highest GB rate. So in the shiftiest days ever we just hit it where they are... over and over and over.
  16. Nico rocking the 40% iffb this month to go with a stellar 55% gb rate
  17. We suck ass against LHP though It would sure be nice if Rizzo got back to his vintage form against them, as well as Baez. It used to be a strength of ours to hit LHP.
  18. Lester obviously gets lit up a few times a season even when things are going well. Hopefully he can recover into something passable because right now it’s a fierce battle between him and Mills for whose rotation spot Quintana gets. Oh yeah and Chatwood gave up like 10 runs in his last start too. Edit: ok that was hyperbole, obviously Mills is out of the rotation well before Lester. But still Sure he gets lit up sometimes but 4 bombs and a shot off the CF wall in 4 innings? Usually when he has a line like this it's with 5 seeing eye singles in between the rockets at least. Quick breeze through his game logs and this was his first time allowing 4 HR in a game in a Cubs uniform.
  19. This is the worst start I've seen from a starter in quite some time.
  20. I feel like we rarely come out and take it to these guys the way they do to us This match up had blowout written all over it though
