    I like these moves and I would like them even more if they managed to trade DeRozan and bring in more high-volume 3 shooters. Love the guy but we need more guys to kick up the pace.

    Nico has 79 XBH and 80 BB in 1250 PA. When I watch him I mostly see a slap hitting hacker whos primarily concerned with putting the ball in play. He's probably our modern version of Castro; 80% of his hitting profile is grounded in a pretty hollow BA. I think he chases too much and doesn't do enough damage on meatballs and the like. Too many infield flies and should be hitting more line drives in general. It's a damn good thing that he is pretty fast and a very discerning baserunner to extract some more value along with his stellar defense. Hoerner is #2 in contact rate behind Arraez, though it's a sizable gap. But when comparing their profiles this year, there are numerous similarities from the approach to the contact and contact quality. The major differences I see are in line drive and flyball rates. Nico is 94th in LD and his FB rate is too high considering his dismal hard hit rate.

    I got 8/9 today (I kept putting Fontenot for BAL/CHC like an idiot) but I was shooting for the lowest % on each tile. So I had % of 3, 19, 2, 0.2, 5, 15, 8, and 1. I thought that was pretty decent.

    Iowa making another comeback. Quite a slugfest. Slaughter with a chance to do more damage. Slaughter walks with juiced bases and they're down 1.

    Yeah we are talking about a 9.77 RAS vs a 9.55 with the difference clearly being in the size category. But Brown beats him in speed and explosion. Sounds like his blocking is a significant weakness, too, but I would be thrilled if they added Brown to the backfield.

    How big is the gap between Bijan and Brown? Brown's athletic profile is really horsefeathering good, so was his rushing production, but he didn't catch many balls. However, how much of that was a function of the offense? IIRC he looked smooth in the catching drills.

    I hope we take Brown or Gibbs later if we want a RB. Saying it again, getting rid of Mustipher was horsefeathering huge, Dude got physically dominated constantly and also whiffed on way too many assignments altogether. Adding Davis on the line, and potentially adding a starting T and a C that can push Patrick - I think we see that pressure rate drop significantly. Fields should have a squad that leaves no room for excuses for production.

    He ran a 4.5 at his pro day and we see a lot of comps to Kupp and St. Brown and those guys were 4.6. JSN's 3-cone beat them both as well. I really want that security blanket to draw heavy coverage in the short-intermediate so that Moore and Mooney can take the top off. Kmet would feast as well with JSN getting so much attention.

    Morel just went deep off of one of the most unhittable pitchers in the minors, Andrew Abbott. Kid has 43 Ks in 20 IP. That's the first HR hes allowed.

    This is the team that wrung 30 dwar out of Omar Narvaez in his 2.5 year stint with them. Skepticism is wise here but there is recent precedent of those early shaky catcher metrics actually holding up when the sample becomes meaningful.
