  1. Davies is really trying to get his changeup back tonight. He's been saying that he hasn't had it all year but he's thrown some really good ones tonight already.
  2. Would there be such backlash if he said Bob Gibson or Luis Tiant instead?
  3. IMO the Cubs are absolutely cheating with the rest of em and I couldn't be happier about it
  4. I would love to see what this sensitivity training entails
  5. That Baez bomb was so loud my co-worker didn't even see my screen and asked who just homered
  6. I'm so glad the organizational pitching is now in line or better than most of the league finally. Even if they're likely using illegal substances and all that horsefeathers. If you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin, right?
  7. horsefeathers. Dodgers, down a run in the 9th, 2 on, Betts smokes a laser to LF and O'neill makes a leaping grab just before the wall to end the game. Thought for sure he had the gw hit off the bat. How long are the Cardinals gonna pretend like Reyes is a closer with his 26 walks in 29 IP. That team is such smoke and mirrors. We should leave them in the dust soon.
  8. Thanks for trying David Price as an opener tonight, Doyers
  9. Hell yeah, Suns
  10. Would it kill Hughes to alter his dong call sometimes? I mean, no-doubters, where the OF barely move... we don't need drama. Give me a "Holy crap that ball is destroyed, so-and-so isn't even giving chase, and by the time it lands, Cubs will be in the lead" or something like that. This whole, "its got a chaaaaaaaance" on 450 bombs clearing the batters eye are just dumb to me.
  11. Weathers looks like Jack Harlow in 5 years after his money has dried up because he burnt it all on edibles and In n Out
  12. Chris Taylor breaks a 3-3 tie with a 3 run double on the 14th pitch from Genesis Cabrera. Cabrera threw 34 high-stress pitches in the inning. Hopefully that breaks him. And Taylor didn't chase at all. Dude was filling up the zone and Taylor finally made him pay.
  13. I just learned that Cubs icon Michael Wuertz is their pitching coach. Loved that guy for those couple years. That's pretty cool.
  14. I’m totally indifferent about the potential move to the burbs. It would almost guarantee hosting a SB within 5 years of the stadium completion- assuming they do a dome. Not having to deal with the Chicago park district would be a plus and having a better playing surface as well. Sounds like you are not indifferent Right lol If I lived in Chicago I might be upset if they moved but being a transplant I am absolutely hoping they bounce.
  15. I really like Mancini. Hes definitely a guy I hope they can acquire. That said, if they did, they better send Heyward to the bench. Mancini's career splits basically mirror each other, its really impressive. We need more guys who don't suck against one side. Heyward's defense isn't even great enough anymore to offset the offense he's produced this season. And Mancini played a lot of RF in 2019. It wasn't pretty. But he still produced big time value overall. I think it'd be worth it to just live with what he gives you out there. Outside of 2020 Heyward has just been blah to blech offensively with us.
  16. So what's going on with Abbott's stuff? He never had major walk issues, and he kept the ball in the yard. Now the walks are way up but so are the strikeouts and whiffs. AAA seems to still be playing with the funny ball; Orlando Arcia has 8 HR for Christ's sake. Abbott is certainly falling prey to that [expletive] ball, just glancing at statistics. So why is he getting so many whiffs but walking way more than expected? I would understand if his numbers were poor and people simply said he wasn't fooling anyone, but you don't strike out 30% TBF if that's the case. Any reports on his spin rates? Just newfound movement he can't command yet?
  17. You know they're gonna sweep LA
  18. Oh come on, how could you fail to mention what occurred in the top of the 9th with Astros up 6-3, Tatis up with 2 on and 2 out... Tatis hit a foul pop to the 1B side that looked like it might reach the stands but it stayed in by about 5 feet or so. The 1B misplayed it badly and fell straight on his back, missed the ball by a wide margin. Next pitch Tatis sent over the train tracks to tie the game. I think Dusty probably did the smart thing. Tatis' last 15 games he almost has a 1.4 OPS. Just on an unstoppable roll right now.
