    Most of our lineup was on that dust that year. Cubs OBP went 333, 354, 333 from 07-09. 08 was unlike anything we had experienced before with the whole lineup working counts and taking walks. In the regular season, of course. it sucks the postseason was canceled that year. And coming right off the postseason cancellations of 03 and 04. Glad baseball survived. The reverberations from the canceled 04 postseason still echo in the Cubs clubhouse

    That may go down as the most befuddling turn of events in my Cubs-fan life. It was like for one year, with one guy, we somehow got a hold of the pixie dust ourselves for once.     Bellinger was a nice addition because the position is a wasteland and his floor is reasonable even when he can't hit. Taillon adds depth so they can ease the Iowa guys in. They're not exciting but they're good moves for the roster IMO.

    Honestly I look at the list and get a little disappointed that Brooks Lee could have been somewhere on it too

    He’s a free agent. They could franchise him, which would make him no longer inexpensive, and still leave them with no long-term solution and thus likely still wanting to draft a qb. Otherwise he hits the open market and who knows? I was thinking he might get some 2/40-2/50 offers. Seems like a reasonable risk.

    Man am I crazy for saying I would roll with Geno until the wheels fall off? He's gonna be half as expensive as top tier QBs. He's thrown 450 passes with Seattle and has basically been amazing. INT% is minuscule, QBR is solid, his rating has been fantastic. He's still sort of young too.

    In hindsight we should have just picked up Valanciunas off the scrap heap.

    Please keep losing in the most unsustainable fashion when Fields plays. But then, I want to see him have some GWD for goodness sake. Tough to root against them right now but pretty much gotta do it.

    Trading our 2nd for Claypool was really bad and will slightly tarnish what should be a super exciting off-season.

    This game was pretty nuts. Washington absolutely dominated the T.O.P.. when they kicked a FG to go up 23-14, they led like 31 minutes to 7. Ended up 40:20. The Eagles receivers let Hurts down big. He should have had 4-5 TDs.

    That news broke last week I believe. It was a straight-up deal for Urquidy and was actually vetoed by Dusty with concern that Willy wouldn't be happy in a time-sharing role and he would just be gunning for his own numbers. He actually said this stuff.

    3 defenders don't even play the ball and try to high/low a defenseless receiver and the refs think that's a normal defensive play. horsefeathers the horsefeathers off.

    Cowboys D had given up 8 TDs coming into this game and we got 4 off of them. That's excellent.

    This injury is brutal, and then to now have a twice operated-on shoulder as well, sucks.
