  1. Would be awesome if you got on tapatalk
  2. This is wolf Gato and Kyle are here. davell posts sometimes.
  3. Bailing Williams out over and over this inning. Stop chasing trash pitches.
  4. He threw it pretty well if he was really on a good one
  5. That was really a Cubby Special inning. Walks and ground balls. Bailed out by awful defense and 1 of the 2 guys on the team who can get the ball off the ground with consistency.
  6. I thought the career achievement had to happen while with that team. Bummer. 8/9. Lowest % was 6 today.
  7. So what's the story on Luis Vazquez? Just looking at his page is interesting. The Cubs brought him stateside as a 17 yo, and he played at A- at 18. Then at 19, the Cubs pushed him all the way up to AAA that year, skipping A+. Am I correct in presuming they needed bodies to fill for injuries and his defense made him the guy, or did they actually see something in him and wanted to challenge him? He did ok at A ball and then he played 25 games at AA and got buried, but instead of sending him to A+, he went to AAA. 2020 happened and he opened 2021 in A+. Did pretty well and they promoted him after just 100 PA, which makes me believe they really liked his chances to hit at AA, He was terrible in 2022 but they didn't send him back to A+ this year and he's had a great year. Feels like a sleeper trade chip. What's his defense like?
  8. They have played their best ball against the best clubs this year so this doesn't even encourage me much lol
  9. Bellinger hadn't shown any power for a while and after coming off the IL he had posted an empty high BA, but today's game pushed him back to a 123 on the season. If he can stay in that range til the deadline we should get a pretty nice offer for him.
  10. Only good takeaway from the series is they came through in several high leverage moments but can't celebrate a split. I'm thinking they're gonna sell. The division is not in a close enough reach IMO. I don't think they'll be within 8 games at the deadline.
  11. Yes, even Victor Caratini can hit a belt high change up over the wall. Thanks a lot, Fulmer.
  12. Health is a pretty big deal. He was always really good, lets just hope he doesn't return to godmode Yelich for long.
  13. Got screwed again because our catcher had to move to catch a strike and it leads to 4 runs.
  14. Cannot believe we won that game. Finally swung the leverage pendulum in our favor.
  15. Stop letting this tomato can throw so many meatballs without repercussions
  16. I like these moves and I would like them even more if they managed to trade DeRozan and bring in more high-volume 3 shooters. Love the guy but we need more guys to kick up the pace.
  17. Nico has 79 XBH and 80 BB in 1250 PA. When I watch him I mostly see a slap hitting hacker whos primarily concerned with putting the ball in play. He's probably our modern version of Castro; 80% of his hitting profile is grounded in a pretty hollow BA. I think he chases too much and doesn't do enough damage on meatballs and the like. Too many infield flies and should be hitting more line drives in general. It's a damn good thing that he is pretty fast and a very discerning baserunner to extract some more value along with his stellar defense. Hoerner is #2 in contact rate behind Arraez, though it's a sizable gap. But when comparing their profiles this year, there are numerous similarities from the approach to the contact and contact quality. The major differences I see are in line drive and flyball rates. Nico is 94th in LD and his FB rate is too high considering his dismal hard hit rate.
  18. I used the guy who recorded the last out
  19. I got 8/9 today (I kept putting Fontenot for BAL/CHC like an idiot) but I was shooting for the lowest % on each tile. So I had % of 3, 19, 2, 0.2, 5, 15, 8, and 1. I thought that was pretty decent.
  20. 2 months later and William Contreras still leads the league in framing. Voodoo magic over there I tell ya.
