  1. You could give the Bears the ball at the Packers 5 and we wouldn't score a TD
  2. Bunch of nobodies absolutely shredding this defense
  3. If the reports are true that Montgomery is looking to beat Nola's deal he's gonna sit on the market until March. I like the guy a lot but he has nowhere near that level of consistent quality. These Boras clients : facepalm:
  4. I think I'd rather have Manaea at 2/30-35. Really intrigued by the big velo bump and the sweeper. His FB was 94-95 in the 2nd half. Kind of feel like we should have signed Mahle. Potential for great value in that deal.
  5. We will see. In the meantime I'm sure they are kicking the tires on PJ Wiggins for more camp competition.
  6. Amaya needs to show significant improvement behind the dish
  7. No comp pick attached, so it makes sense to go outside of your comfort zone for imanaga and Montgomery.
  8. I cannot believe the Bears have had just 1 QB throw for 300 yards vs GB this millenium and it was freaking Trubisky. God Cutler sucked. What an embarrassing stat.
  9. I wanted him since 2015 lol
  10. With Stroman, you can expect MORP production and he is suited to start a playoff game. I don't have much issue with signing him, even though his IP has been dragged down by injuries. But I've read several blurbs where it sounds like he has several offers and the Cubs appear to be ready to part ways.
  11. Montgomery is a better fit since he isn't attached to a pick. He's a pretty reliable strike-thrower and feels like a good bet to provide commensurate value to his contract. I didn't realize just how bad imanaga's FB tendencies are. His GB rate last year would be in the bottom 3 of the MLB. The KBB is definitely solid but that's a good reason to hesitate on signing him. I still wish they would just sign JD or Belt rather than trade for Alonso.
  12. It's the new normal
  13. Yeah my dad would be fine going 2-15 with the wins against the Packers
  14. They were probably only willing to go beyond the threshold if he had managed to reel in a whale
  15. He's pretty clearly not being viewed as a 4-5 win CF. Otherwise he'd have a bigger market IMO.
  16. That's not how aging curves generally work though. Can you name a player who got a 7/175 deal coming off a 3 war season?
  17. People - front offices included - don't believe in how he achieved 4 war. If you split the difference in his woba and xwoba then he's more like a 115-120 hitter and 3 war. He doesnt get credit for time missed due to injury. 3 war players don't get 25 AAV long term often.
  18. Fort a second there last week I thought the coaching change might have been the switch they needed to pull to save face and give us like, the 3 pick, but lol today
  19. He will always be an import
  20. Besides the imports I don't really think we missed out on much. Maybe Gray or Rodriguez.
  21. Great defensive catchers that can also hit are worth their weight in gold
  22. Above them all. I really like Grissom. Great plate discipline. I think he's gonna take off in Boston.
  23. The simple answer is you throw a decent prospect with the bad contract and trade it to a rich team. This has happened so many times over the years. Not sure the Cubs will ever do it, but the point remains.
