Good video and breakdown of Onyeka Okongwu: [bbvideo=1280,720]
[/bbvideo] I've had some time to think about what the Bulls should do now that they have the #4 pick in the draft. It's obviously not the best draft to have such a high draft pick, but it is what it is... I like Onyeka Okongwu after watching some more clips and reading more about him. They compare him to Bam Adebayo in this video and they actually faced each other in HS. Pretty similar measurements (7'2" wingspan for Okongwu vs. 7'3" for Adebayo). Pretty similar games too. Okongwu is the better shot blocker based on stats in college. He's definitely the best defensive big in this draft class. Someone that would complement Lauri Markkanen pretty well. You could also play him alongside Wendell Carter w/ Carter sliding to the 4, but Carter would really need to improve his outside shot to make that work... Okongwu is not a shooter and I don't know if he'll ever develop into an elite offensive player. He's a great rim runner and should be able to finish alley-oops pretty well. Get offensive rebounds and make some easy putbacks. I think his ceiling is around 10-15 ppg? He's not a playmaker and won't get many assists. His value is really tied to his contributions on the defensive end. I would rather take someone with a higher ceiling at #4, but if the top 3 (LaMelo, A. Edwards and J. Wiseman) are all taken then the options become limited. I don't want the Bulls to take Deni Avdija and I would absolutely hate that selection. I think my best hope is some team in the 7-10 range really likes Tyrese Haliburton or Obi Toppin and wants to move up, allowing the Bulls to slide down and draft Okongwu or Saddiq Bey plus some additional assets/draft picks.
