  1. They really need to place Kimbrel on the IL with a fake injury. I'm worried Ross thinks Kimbrel can get this turned around and remembers his golden years in Atl too fondly. He isn't that dude anymore... I think Kimbrel is a lost cause in this shortened season. Every game is so important and he's broken.

  3. Ohtani is done pitching this year and that's a damn shame...

  5. Very exciting young player. The Angels have a nice young core of talent. I don't think he'll win the RoY award (assuming we have a full season). I think Luis Robert wins it pretty easily and he's posting incredible statcast numbers right now.

  7. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet]That's awesome lol
  8. He looks excellent right now. Chatwood should definitely stay in the starting rotation... Quintana sucks and will be sent to the bullpen when he returns. That's not even a question or something to ponder IMO.

  10. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet]I'm all-in on David Bote getting more playing time.
  11. On MLB Pipeline, Jim Callis wrote this: I listened to a podcast a while back with Jim Callis (I can't remember which one now...) and he's very high on both Ed Howard and Burl Carraway. I believe Ed Howard will be ranked 4th on the Cubs list ahead of Miguel Amaya when they update it. I think he also said he'd place Burl Carraway 6th or 7th on the list and that he thinks Ryan Jensen probably ends up being a reliever. If both end up being relievers he has Carraway ahead of Jensen. I believe that's what he said, but I need to go back and double-check. I mean we'll see the changes next week.
  12. I think the reason it’s not reviewable is that too many things happen dependent on the original call after. Imagine this identical play happens in the bottom of the 9th of a tie playoff game. You review it and see it hit the ground, but what’s the ultimate call? If the call on the field was no catch Bryant is going to ensure he gets the lead runner, can we assume he would’ve been out or that there would be a double play? I know and that's why I have it as a question instead of a statement... It's difficult to breakdown and determine how to properly rule it, but maybe it needs to be ruled like interference or something like that? If every team is told all catches/trap plays are reviewable now then maybe players will be told to react based on what they think happened. It's complicated no doubt. I'm not exactly sure how to determine this exact play or what should happen, but I feel like all catches should be reviewable.
  13. Umm, I think these plays should be reviewable? It could be very important in a playoff series.

  15. It's obviously a complicated situation with Bruce Maxwell... I don't know exactly what happened that night he got arrested, but he was dealing with stuff and clearly having a breakdown. I'm not excusing his behavior that night but that was totally out of character for him. He isn't Aroldis Chapman and he definitely received death threats. I'm willing to give someone like him a second chance. He seems like a good guy, introspective and he cares about social justice and raising awareness among MLB players. You would have to interview him and figure out what happened and where he is in his life. Billy Beane has vouched for him and was willing to give him another chance. I normally would avoid signing a player like this, and from a pure baseball-perspective he isn't that great. He isn't Josh Hamilton... Still, I think it sends an important message to African-American players and fans when you're willing to sign someone like him.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet]Nice Hamilton reference.

  19. Lol I don't like Joe Kelly, but horsefeathers Carlos Correa and horsefeathers the Astros and everyone who helped them cheat...
  20. He deserves more playing time. I think he'll have a great year.
