    I'm surprised we didn't make this its own thread. Every Cubs fan and poster here should care about this injury. I'm sure everyone here already knows about it, but the news still sucks. Nico has looked great so far.

    Yeah, the amount of years of team control is crazy. Cimber is a good arm and I think this is a great trade for Cleveland. I thought they were sending Mejia+. I mean Mejia might not even stick at C, and his bat might regress. Lots of ways this trade goes south for SD. huh? this trade literally cannot go south because SD is a terrible team and they turned a reliever into what should be an impact bat. Even if Mejia never pans out they got a top 5 prospect for ... relievers. Last year when they tried to move Hand no one offered anything close to Mejia, so this is a huge win for them The opportunity cost is a real thing. Other teams were probably offering prospect packages for Hand + Cimber as well. Probably no prospect as good as Mejia, but more prospects in return. Sometimes unranked prospects or lower ranked prospects end up being really good players. I'm not super high on Mejia and think he's slightly overrated. We'll see what happens.

    Yeah but it's like a decade worth of control. Hand has all of this year and then 19, 20 and 21. Cimber has been really impressive and he's got less than a year of service time.     It won't be a great prospect going back. He's really not that impressive and has already thrown a ton of innings this year (56 1/3). Hope he's durable.

    Hmm, this is going to require a lot of detective work to figure out. It's probably not a Hispanic player or a young player (probably). It's probably some old vet on some NL team. I doubt an AL player would say this about Javy. Not sure. I'll come up with a list of probable candidates...

    I wonder how fast Fernando Kelli is and whether he is the fastest player in the system? And by fastest I'm talking about among our prospects and not some no-name scrub or late rounder. He has plus speed, but I don't know if it's grade 60 or 70. Good question for Kiley McDaniel or Eric Longenhagen during their chats.
