  1. He could end up being better than that. I really like Victor Victor Mesa (older brother) and think he could reach the big leagues pretty fast.
  2. [tweet]https://twitter.com/joadell25/status/1052383609099886592[/tweet] Jo Adell seems like an awesome kid and a great prospect. He could be ranked #1 overall in the minors after Vlad Jr., Tatis Jr. and Eloy all graduate to the big leagues next season. Do any of our players/prospects hold camps? I'm pretty sure Baez holds one right?
  3. From the latest chat on Fangraphs:

  5. The Mesa brothers have signed with the Marlins. Well, have fun reaching the big leagues, playing well and then getting traded once you reach arbitration/become too expensive.
  6. He's balling right now, but we all know Mirotic goes on hot stetches like this and cools down. Solid player, but not a 20 ppg guy. I hope he does well with the Pelicans. AD is one of my favorite players.
  7. lookie lookie at the friggin turd that started it Little Slide Rooter?
  8. Not a big deal, but just a petition to Raisin or some Mod to change the title lol. Just drop the place holder in the title and name it "Minor League Musings". What is it a place holder for 50+ pages in?

  10. http://www.mlb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=t_ibp&sid=l119&cid=555 An extra-base hit from Nico Hoerner would be nice. He's hitting .286/.276/.286 in 28 AB. He's hitting for a good average and this is the toughest pitching he's ever faced.
  11. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/2019-encore-jesse-chavez From the article on nbcsports.com: I didn't want to bring back Brian Duensing after his good year in 2017, but I feel better about Jesse Chavez. We should be able to bring him back on a 1-yr deal. He's durable and seems fine with going multiple innings. His control and fastball command is amazing (at least during his short time w/ the Cubs). He won't be as dominant as last year, but I think he's capable of having another good season.
  12. http://interact.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1291232&sid=10c3aa51da55beb664fd6ed229aa73ea Just wanted to share this gem from cards talk:
  13. Portis looked good tonight. He could be a nice trade piece or part of a larger trade. Kinda wished the Bulls had signed him to an extension. The 2019 draft class sucks so contenders will be offering their pick.
  14. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet]https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/1053003934271397889[/tweet] Pretty disgusting and I'd be pissed if I were a Royals fan right now.
  15. [tweet]https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/1053014320169119744[/tweet] [tweet]https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/1052940374275018755[/tweet] Keith Law on Vlad Jr. lol: No Cubs prospects are mentioned in the article.
  16. pretty damn on point. I wish I could be excited about the young guys on the team but I just feel like there is no overall direction so its hard for me to turn the games on. Maybe I'm just older and don't have more time for crap teams, but the post-Jordan years I ate up the rebuild, obsessed over the young talent and imagined how good they would be and then the 04-05 team happened which is one of my favorite non-contending sports teams ever. This time around my thought is 'wake me up when they're competitive again' Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. It's harder as you get older to keep the same enthusiasm for a rebuild. We've seen rebuilds go bad so many times. I still remember the hype around the "Baby Bulls". I think we have to hire a young GM who will try to emulate The Process in Philly. They have such a bright future now. Obviously, the blatant tanking sucked, but they're reaping the rewards now and fans are excited. How excited are Bulls fans right now for a fringe playoff team?
  17. I wonder how this will affect his FA. It shouldn't change too much. I never wanted the Cubs to go after him unless we got him for 1-yr or something. He's going to get a 4-yr deal most likely and it could end badly. Probably will end badly. Please sign with the Cardinals.
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]The Astros should only be allowed to do this against the Cardinals.
  19. Well, the Cardinals are still in the penalty phase for going over in previous years. They can't bid on the big name IFAs like the Mesa brothers during this signing period.
  20. [tweet] [/tweet]Nice to hear good things on defense for Nico Hoerner. I think some scouts before the draft maybe thought he couldn't stick at short because of arm strength issues? He doesn't have a cannon, but it seems like he makes pretty accurate throws. [tweet] [/tweet]Not a big deal lol.
  21. [tweet] [/tweet] I have heard Rocco Baldelli is a super nice dude. He was a great player before the injuries/medical condition derailed his career.
