I didn’t hear Rogers , but apparently he said that there is a feeling that the Red Sox , Padres , Cubs are the teams that could make a move soon ( trade )

Heyman did mention the Cubs among the possible fits for Schwarber , but it seem like complete speculation to me .

Dodgers didn’t want a long term deal , so no problem . They just threw 23 on AAV to Diaz on a 3 year deal , just to have some fun and get in on the offseason action 😂

Yeah , Heyman has talk a good bit about Imai and the Cubs today . He believes there is a decent chance the Cubs sign him ( FWIW ) . I guess I feel more optimistic because the Dodgers don’t seem like they are involved . Giants and Mets are giving signs that they don’t want to do long term deals for SP . Red Sox have already added 2 SP and they seem focused on bats now . I don’t know , maybe they have a chance . I think Imai is their number # target with King as the main backup plan . I don’t think King is signing before Imai

Have a feeling these meetings will be boring . Starting pitching market is been held up by Imai , so I don’t expect anything from the Cubs until that happens ( meaningful mean ) . I could see Stanek this week 😂

Cubs are listed as one of the 3 serious suitors for Ranger Suarez , by Feinsand on mlb.com . Astros and Orioles the other two . People have sort of write him off because of the strikeouts comments by Hoyer and all the lefties they have , but I wouldn’t rule him out . Hoyer is more than anything else a value hunter . If he feels Suarez will give him the best value among the top SP , he won’t hesitate IMO , and Imanaga and Boyd are due for FA after the season anyway.

There’s a new story on the athletic about the Cubs interest in Alex Bregman . Don’t have access to the Athletic , so can’t post anything . My guess is that is something they would consider if they trade for Edward Cabrera ?

If Imai signs for his 6 year 150 million projection , they would have to pay his Japanese team around 25 million , I read

Only positive about this , is that it seems they are still willing to give a SP 100 + million . If they sign a SP I think it will be King for 4 years and 88 -92 million The bullpen on the other hand i am skeptical that we will see a 10+ signing . I think they may sign 1 guy in the 7 range and dumpster dive the rest .

If they were willing to go to this level , Devin Williams would be a Cub . After seen The news about Marquee , can’t help to think that Tom is up to his old tricks again . With how things look right now , we would be lucky to get another Phil Maton, in the pen .😂 -
Yeah , that deal has a bunch of deferrals as well . I am pissed about this , but not surprised . There were a lot of cuts today at Marquee as well . Feeling a bit uneasy now tbh . Hopefully not a sign of things to come in terms of spending

Yeah , I think we are going to see a reliever run here in the next week or so , before the winter meetings . I thought Helsley was one of the guys they had the best opportunity to get . -
I think it would be really funny if after all this Cubs need power stuff and K’s , they end up with Ranger Suarez 😂 . Don’t get me wrong Suarez is a solid pitcher , it would just be funny . I don’t see them getting Framber or Imai . If they are going to sign an impact SP , then it’s probably King or Suarez
