  1. My way too early offseason plan would include : Decline Shota Pick up Kittridge Trade for Joe Ryan ( Cassie / Shaw ) ? Sign Bichette or Bregman for 3B Move Brown to the pen Alcantara / Long as part of the bench Ballesteros DH vs Righties Extend Nico That wouid leave Palencia and Kittridge as the only true high leverage options , so obviously more pen moves would be needed With all this said , I probably change my mind in a couple of days .
  2. Been thinking about the Imanaga decision and I think I would decline the 3 year option . If he wants to pick his 1/15 , I am cool with that. If he declines , offer the QO and if he accepts it’s 1 /22 . No big deal if he rejects , get the pick for him .
  3. I have seen people mention trading Shaw and I wouldn’t be against it if it means the Cubs can keep Wiggins out of trade talks . I like the idea of Bichette at 3B . I wouldn’t be against Bregman . Not sure if Polanco is a FA , but if the Cubs think they can make him average at 3B , I be ok with that as well .
  4. In theory they could . Tigers just don’t have a lot of money on the books going forward . With that said he is a Boras guy and I really doubt they will get into a bidding war with the big boys ( don’t need to mention them ) Thats why I said , it wouldn’t surprise me if the Tigers get a good enough offer to trade him .
  5. The more I think about the Imanaga decision , I lean more towards not picking the options up . Not eager to commit into 3 years . If he wants to pick his 1 year 15 option , that’s fine . If he doesn’t pick it up , offer the QO . if he accepts 1 / 22 it’s ok as well . If not get the pick for him leaving . Summary : I am fine with Shota on a 1 year / 15 to 22 mil . Not interested in a 3 year deal right now . I know I am probably in the minority in here about this , but yeah that’s just how I feel
  6. I think they will try to trade for a SP , instead of giving big money on a long deal towards a FA . Pretty good chance Ryan is available this winter and wouldn’t be surprised if the Tigers make a Tucker type trade with Skubal . He has pretty much said he is testing FA already and the Tigers don’t have much of a chance to keep him IMO.
  7. Well , not watching these dorks celebrate , so that’s it for me . Bring that offseason thread !
  8. Not that upset to be honest . Milwaukee has good pitching and they were all on tonight . I think the Cubs lost this series when Imanaga gave away that 3 run lead in game 2 . Obviously no guarantees they were going to win if he throws a 0 that inning . But that was huge . Whatever it was still a fun year overall . Will be interesting to see what they do with the Suzuki / Cassie / Ballesteros 3 spots for 2 players and Cassie / Ballesteros don’t seem to have anything to do at AAA , anymore
  9. Keller’s velo was down last night . That’s a bit concerning . Hopefully it was just a case of the back to back as he threw 19 pitches the day before .
  10. I think they will open with Kittridge on Saturday . If i were Murphy , I start Patrick
  11. Never in a million years I thought they would be able to take this series back to Milwaukee . Hats off to Boyd , didn’t think he had this left in him . We are alive , baby !
  12. Well I am a fan first ,and I really hopes he does well , but I don’t think starting Boyd is a smart decision , just like I didn’t think it was in game 1 . Overall bad numbers for very long while right now , innings concerns . Hasn’t look good against this team all year . While he is starting on normal rest , he did start on short rest his last time out and he got warmed in the 9th inning of game 3 of the WCS. His stuff just looks really flat to me , especially the off speed stuff and it has looked that way for basically the entire 2nd half . I just don’t love the matchup . Chourio / Contreras and Vaughn really worry me , especially with what looks like a helping wind if you pull it to left . As crazy as this may sound , I probably would have opened with Civale and mix and match from the 4th inning on . That’s how little confidence have in Boyd right now . Really can’t afford to spot them 2 -3 runs early with Peralta going . They have to have guys up and ready in the pen basically from the start . If they get into a dangerous matchup with a couple of guys on early , they need to pull him , even if it is the 1st inning . Anyway , hopefully they can find a way to get this one . Would love to see Brewer fans get nervous going into a game 5 .
  13. Most likely Boyd . I think starting Boyd was a mistake in game 1 and I think it’s a mistake starting him tomorrow .
  14. Hey there is a chance the Phillies get eliminated before the Cubs .
  15. You know it wouldn’t be a bad idea to score 1 or 2 here . Can we do that , Cubs ?
  16. Because letting Chourio faced a lefty is a massive mistake . Right move , didn’t work . Honestly feels like the beginning of the end here .
  17. 😂😂 , weren’t you defending them starting Boyd in game 1 because it was a small sample against the brewers ? It was a small sample because he sucked both times against them . That things went south wasn’t surprising at all . With that said they probably would have still lost . They can’t hit to save their lifes.
  18. It would be Boyd again and the result isn’t likely to be much better than the 1st game . Brewers see the ball really big against him .
  19. Yeah , I won’t miss Tucker one bit . Wish him well , but bye bye
  20. Yeah they went about as far as they could . . Only reason they barely got past SD is because they have offense problems as well . They really had no chance against any other team .
  21. And while the pitching has obviously sucked this series , the offense continues to be absolute dog horsefeathers as well as. 3 runs so far again . They played 5 games , They have scored under 4 runs each one . Very difficult to win like that .
  22. For a team that can’t slug , Brewers seem to be doing well
  23. There is nothing they can do . They have no answers againts their lineup . This series is over . Thought it would be more competitive tbh . It was still a good season overall , but getting kick in the ass in the playoffs by Milwaukee doesn’t feel good
  24. It went exactly like I thought . Brewers are absolutely lock in against the Cubs lefty starters . Cubs are in a world of trouble
