    If they have the money for it , i could see a trade for Cease . He will make like 13.75 next year . If the Padres feel Cassie is ready to play LF , i wouldnt be surprised if it happens . One of Assad / Wicks would probably need to go as well . If they cant trade for a top SP , then i prefer adding the best 2 relievers they can get on 1 year deals . With that said its entirely possible all they do from this point on is Kyke Finnegan and a 3B .

    I disagree . I think Hoyers status very much could be a factor in a decisión like this . A Tucker extensión would be the biggest payroll commitment for the next 8-10 years . I have a hard time believing Ricketts would allow a guy that he isnt sure will be the president in 2025 , make that important decisión . I think they would want , the longterm payroll as clear as possible , for a potencial new front office to work with .

    Rogers was on ESPN 1000 and said Sasaki is now visiting cities , and hasnt heard he is visiting Chicago . Put the Cubs on the back of those conversations .

    Lindor agreed with the Mets before extending . Betts agree before extending . I think its more likely than they arent interested in an extensión and they are trying to save every possible dollar for 2025. . Hoyer doesnt even have a contract for next year . I doubt very much that he has the green light to do this kind of deal I think its a bad look for the organización TBH .

    I think they will get 1 more , but Its more likely someone like Kyle Finnegan ( ok , but not elite ) than a Yates . I could see Hoffman on a 12 / 13 on AAV as a SP as well .

    That was a short extensión with a player they drafted and developed . This is a new player who they have no previous relationship whatsoever . Big difference .

    If the Cubs arent signing Sasaki , i prefer that he lets them know this week . Feels like its going to be completely quiet until he makes a decisión . Would really suck to wait until the 20-21st with nothing happening , only to see him signing with LA or SD .

    With Kim gone , infield lefty options remaining : Moncada Nicky López Polanco Frazier Petterson There are some 1B only guys available as well , but i dont think they will go in that direction .

    Not exactly what i had in mind after the Tucker trade . There are things to like there that point to better results , but thought they would aim higher .

    Saw the other day the Cubs are interested in Ogasawara If true that would be an extremely weird fit at this point .

    Mastrouboni still has 1 option left . He is going to Iowa . If they have space for Workman at AAA , could see a small trade for the Cubs to keep him . If not he will be return to the Tigers . Brujan will be the 2B / SS reserve . My Guess is they are going cheap on the bench with Canario as well as the reserve OF ( out of options ). One more bench spot to cover and it has to be a 3B / 1B .

    Twins are looking to cut payroll , but probably want to stay competitive . Would think the Cubs would need to include someone like Wicks maybe as part of the deal ? Obviously they would need to give more than that . Pablo i think has 3 years at 18 on AAV left on his deal .
