    I know Anthony Santander isn’t a good fielder but I wouldn’t hate him as a DH - RF splitting time with Suzuki . Seems like he has found himself as a hitter at age 29 . Lots of HR , switch hits , really good numbers with RISP the last 2 years . Yes I would like Soto but that ain’t happening . Also unless he goes on a tear when he comes back , Bellinger may actually stay next year . Bellinger in CF with Santander - Suzuki as RF / DH . .

    Don’t hate it . Hopefully they can find a 3B the next couple of days . Miguel Vargas from the Dodgers ?

    Really don’t care about Suzuki or any of them . With that said Suzuki isn’t getting traded .

    Orioles get Eflin from Rays . Probably takes them out of Taillon ?

    They were always going to sell . They are over the luxury tax . They were not going to go over 2 years in a row and o am sure they prefer to go over next season if needed . If they can’t move Bellinger due to the fracture is going to be interesting to see if they move Taillon . Read something about the Red Sox having interest in him today . Hopefully they can get someone to take on Neris based on track record

    This draft is as exciting as watching the Cubs play . Still is interesting to read the comments after they underslot someone nobody has heard about . The majority of posters will complaint about the pick while the nerds will search and post reasons as to why the pick was awesome .

    I wouldn’t expect much movement . Just enough to get under the LT . They won’t go over in a season like this . Even if somehow they get back into the WC race , they will stay under to keep the option of going over next year open if needed .

    If they trade those 3 players the Cubs would have way over 100 million to use next offseason and more players to fill holes or more trade pieces to work with If Jed Hoyer has way over 100 million to use and a strong minor league system he should be able to put together a playoff caliber team . If not he needs to get his ass fired . So yes he should be able to find better players with the amount of money he should have available and the trade pieces he should have available . If not we have a problem at the FO of this team

    Just keep losing . Don’t want them to get 2-3 under before the deadline and keep this roster the same . Goal should be to unload as many contracts as possible . They should look into dealing Happ / Taillon if posible . I would be open to moving Hoerner as well . Try to get back some players close to the majors . No A ball kids . Time to break this core up . It isn’t working .

    Can’t wait until Hoyer fixes 3B with Eugenio Suarez as he looks for his value deals .

    This team is total trash . They look like this againts the majority of pitchers they face . Guys that don’t strike people out , strikes them out . Amazed people talk like they will be buyers next month . What they should do is try to trade as much of this garbage as possible and get under the LT. Hopefully get over next year if Hoyer actually does his job well and puts together a good roster .

    They should trade whoever they can and that’s including Nico , Happ / Suzuki . I know there are NTC and it’s unlikely but paying 20 + million to guys like Happ is too much for a franchise that operates like a mid market team . This core is not working out .

    Getting abused by every central division team . Bad defense , baserunning , bullpen , offense . Great job. Hoyer building this dumpster fire of a roster . The 2050 payroll doesn’t have any money on the books , so everything is fine .

    Why on earth was Madrigal hitting for Wisdom if he wasn’t going to bunt ? . Why would you want Madrigal swinging the bat in that spot . . What a dumbass move by Counsell especially with the wind blowing out to LF.
