    Huge series . Arizona is the team that can take the Cubs completely out of the playoffs . Milwaukee is too good , Cubs won’t catch them . Phillies are charging hard for the 4 seed now and SD is just 4 back of the cubs . Arizona is 6 back . Need to win this series and if somehow they could sweep , it would basically take AZ out of the picture . i haven’t looked at the September schedule but i know the Cubs have 7 againts Milwaukee and 3 againts Boston . Would be nice to have a good lead over AZ starting September

    I wanted the Cubs to trade for Cabrera and I was wrong . He horsefeathers sucks . I don’t know what the horsefeathers tried to do with him , but it didn’t work . 3-0 seems like a pretty big hole to come back from , with PCA sucking

    Yeah but it’s really horsefeathers tough to score 8 runs . Deficit should not be this big . Counsell has had a generally good year all things considered , but he horsefeathered off today

    Yeah walking him is absurd . This kid has 2 big league at bats . Thornton throws groundballs and is a righty . He should have been in .

    Hate to be that guy , but Counsel should have never allowed Boyd in to face that kid . You can tell he is is picking the ball really well of him .

    I don’t think this team can’t afford to lose Seiya . He is basically the only real RH power bat they have . I know it will probably take 5 years , but horsefeathers it , don’t care . Big market team with money , take the pain at the backend of the deal . Holmes seems like another good extension candidate 3 year deal for him ? I still don’t love giving Rojas away , but extending Clay would make me feel better . Get to work Jed

    Without Seiya this team looks really different PCA and him are the ones leading the way . It’s going to be interesting to see what they do with the 2 CO spots . Arozarena will probably want 5 years as well . I really don’t trust Shaw / Alcantara . Pedro in LF ? I thank Happ for everything but I wouldn’t bring him back . With that said maybe he takes the QO with the uncertainty of a rush FA period when the lockout ends

    If the Cubs want any chance to catch Milwaukee , they will probably need to have a huge week in the standings here . Go like 5-1 on this trip while the Brewers are out west ( which is always difficult )
