  1. What did Lou say about Fukudome? YOU'RE THE MANAGER LOU. YOU HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO PINCH HIT FOR PLAYERS WHO AREN'T PERFORMING. EVERYBODY WHO WATCHYES BASEBALL KNOWS HE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN PLAYING. Lou makes me sick. What a terrible manager.
  2. Had he said that about three weeks ago in General Baseball, no one would have thought anything of it. Saying it in the middle of a contentious game thread full of pissed off Cubs fan is generally a bad idea. So the truth is bad? So after Al Davis dies, would it be appropriate to go to his funeral and scream "AL WAS AN A-HOLE!!!!" in front of his mourning family? I mean, it's true.
  3. By the way, we're in October and I still haven't seen Fukudome's supposed rocket arm
  4. By the way, it should be pointed out how badly Torre outmanaged Lou last inning. instead of going with the lefty vs Fukudome (which would have forced Lou to take Fukudome out) he went with the righty so Lou would leave the auto-out in the game. Of course, Lou sits on his ass and lets Fukudome hit.
  5. The contracts of our aging corner outfielders and infielders are going to look terrible in 2-3 years from now.
  6. 80 walks for Billingsley this season in about 200 innings ZERO walks from our position players tonight. Zero.
  7. Guys, stop talking about big trades. If we get good players, it will have to be through free agency. We have absolutely nothing to offer for guys like Peavy. Nothing.
  8. Wood stayed healthy all year??? What about that month-long stint on the DL? For Wood, that is staying healthy all year.
  9. The 4 game sweep at Milwaukee- meaningless The Aramis grand slam against Philly- meanngless The comeback against Colorado- meaningless The sweep on the White Sox at Wrigley- meaningless Wood staying healhy all season- meaningless Dempster's career year- meaningless Catching lightning ina bottle with Edmonds- meaningless All that stuff, which seemed so significant, means nothing. Just like that, it's all meaningless. Never happened.
  10. Nothing will change. They'll make a few moves, make the playoffs, and then choke again. Seriously, after this season I'm convinced there is no way they'll win in my lifetime. 97 wins, a stacked team, and the playoffs start and it's just nothing. They'll never have a better chance than they had this year, and they haven't even come close to winning a single game. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN
  11. Only 79 pitches through 6 for Billignsley. Only ONE walk (from the pitcher, who hasn't walked all season) off a guy who walked 80 in the regular season.
  12. STOP. Those pitures aren't even funny. If you want to be the obnoxious guy at least put them in spoilers
  13. I'd be happy if the cast-offs were limited to DeRo, Dempster, Theriot, and D-Lee. They had the tightest sphincters this series, so they simply have to go. Give Fuku another year. Embrace Soriano's eccentricity and encourage players to emulate him. Sign four guys that, in a psychological sense, most fit the Manny/Johnny Damon/Idiot psychological profile to replace DeRo, Demp, Ther, and D. Just not Manny himself. Too distracting. Bring in Bellhorn as a bench guy (or coach?). DeRo, really? You do realize he's driven in our only runs of this series, right? Keep him as a super utility guy if you must. This was a career year. I would expect something Gary Gaetti-like from him next year. And that DP boot must have made Alex Gonzalez blush. DeRosa shouldn't even have been on the field, because it's clear his calf isn't 100%. Wait, how do you know that? Because he had an error on a ball where he didn't even have to move? Because he has a 1.167 OPS this series?
  14. GO BACK TO JAPAN Where are all those jokers who said Fukudome would have a huge postseason? Yeah, good call
  15. I love how we're down 0-2 and haven't used our fully rested and best starter.
  16. the bad thing is, center field is really the only position Hendry will try to upgrade. you know they're going to giving the stupid asian another chance since they signed him to a ridiculous contract. Honestly, at the time, everyone loved it. Don't forget that. People who pay attention to Japanese hitters didn't yeah, okay... Excellent rebuttal. I don't understand why people are surprised that Fukudome is terrible.
