    I didn't want Ibanez at all. But if the Rays can convince Bradley to go there, the Phillies get Ibanez, the White Sox get Abreu, does that leave us Dunn? I know the Rays are the flavor of the month, but if given similar offers, I cant see Bradley chosing the Rays over the Cubs. You never know what the season will bring, but Im guessing that the Rays had their chance, and the Yanks and Sawx are going to resume their dominance over the division. What in the good Lord's name makes you think that? You say that about old teams, not the youngest, most talented team in baseball with the strongest farm.

    Am I the only one who doesn't believe this guy is really DB or for real at all? Kinda seems like a prank (especially considering DB didn't last but 2 months or so here yet he claims to have been here for years). Oh yeah, Peavy. I think we'll get him and I think what's holding it up right now is getting rid of Marquis and I would guess the issue of Vitters or Pie (and not both).

    Didn't we have like the best offense in the NL last year, or at least close to the best? Who cares what we need. We need a RF and 1 more SP. I'd rather have Reed Johnson in RF and Peavy then Milton Bradley and Marquis. That's idiotic

    The biggest difference is that Peavy is signed long-term and is thus a burden for several years. Johan was gone after the season, anyway and at least garnered two picks if they lost him to FA. Pads are in a much worse leverage position with Peavy, IMO.

    Seriously? How about asking some scouts Lou? You mean Hughes should be asking the pro scouts, Hughes should relay it to Hendry and Hendry should pass it onto Lou. Or just have Hendry or more likely one of his assistants look up his scouting report from the database. How are they supposed to jack up his price that way?

First off, one year park factors are pretty meaningless, and secondly, even in 2008 when run scoring in SF was up, it still stifled homers, which was basically his point. Wow, that was a very comma-ey sentence. I'll add that SBC is also significantly less friendly to left-handed hitters due to the gigantic RF power alley

    I like how he capitalized grind and toughness in his post. It's almost like he wanted the weakest points of his argument to stand out more. But for the record, I agree with most of what you said about Theriot minus the comparison of his and Cedeno's first-year BAs. OBP was the key difference between the two of them. Cedeno's sub-.300 OBP made him a complete liability at the plate that year, whereas Theriot's pedestrian .330ish OBP made him replacement-level
