  1. If he plays well, he'll help us win games. If he doesn't, he won't.
  2. If only that happened more frequently. I don't quite agree with the way CubinNY worded that but still, :banghead:
  3. Being a Cubs fan is just not fair sometimes
  4. Me too. None of these fans will ever have a better chance of snagging a foul ball. I was at one in '06 when it pretty much rained all game. I wore a bag on my head that said fire Dusty. A month later he was. You're all welcome. Saw Maddux' 3,000th k game and it was rainy and cold the whole night. AWESOME
  5. Perhaps, but then again, maybe they were only willing to get him involved in the bidding process, in order to drive up the price. Oliver Stone stuff there. Hardly. That's exactly what I was thinking. Now, personally, I believe Cuban will own the team if he makes the highest bid, but if you can get away with it, it's just smart business to allow someone like him in on the process regardless of whether or not he has a real shot.
  6. with Marmol unavailable tonight, we need him
  7. Good day to give the double play king a rest and put Ward at 1st? I thinks that's a great idea also, with someone such as Theriot or Soriano on 1B, Lee up and less than two outs when is Lou going to start hitting and running? After Lee grounds in 40 DP's? It's STILL not a good idea to risk making outs on the bases in front of Lee
  8. If the Cubs can somehow win the World Series this year, it will be their first time since 1908
  9. I find it really hard to believe that the Red Sox haven't already played 4 or 5 Sunday Night Baseball games.
  10. I wouldn't want to trade Lee, but since you brought it up, Lee + Pie for Loney + Kemp would be tempting during the offseason. Just tempting!? I'd do that in a heartbeat.
  11. We're dealing with some serious isht here
  12. I definitely agree with this, and I think a big reason for the dropoff in pitching is a corresponding dropoff in defense, especially in the infield. They played way over their heads defensively for the first couple of months and are now coming back to earth, showing to be a very beatable team.
  13. google says it took me .39 seconds to find the answer to this question
  14. Yes, because I also heard that he was at the first game of the current series and was sitting in the front row, down the first base line, listening to the Brewer radio broadcast on his headphones. He jumped up and pumped his fist when Rickie Weeks went to make the turn on Derek Lee's double play ball. The motion distracted Weeks and sent the ball soaring off-line, right into the seat next to Bartman. =D>
  15. This is such a dumb post. If you haven't questioned Lou's management of the bullpen this year, you are quite probably [expletive]. EDIT: Meaning "you" in a general sense, not the poster specifically
  16. I selected all three because I could. I think this guy is really Steve Phillips conducting a SportsNation poll incognito.
