    Are you trying to tell us something that we don't already know here? Look, this is really simple: there is way too much emotion going on in all of your posts. No one is happy that Hill's control has disappeared, and no one knows why it happened. Even if there were a meaningful discussion to be had here (and there isn't), it wouldn't happen because of the nature and tone of your posts. People here don't respond well to these petulant, emotionally charged posts under any circumstances, really. And frankly, the only posts that make the thread readable are the sarcastic ones. You are right when you talk about the vets on this board and the difficulty of getting a post/thread accepted by them. The majority of their posts are probably shots at uninformed and tactless posters cluttering the board, but you'll notice that when any of them start a thread,* they normally make a substantive claim that induces discussion. The "noobs" and the emotionally-driven tend to treat starting a new thread like another post, and forget the substance and hurt any chance of a real discussion. Once you begin starting threads with stats-based claims and relevant information, things will get better for you. *with the exception of maybe IMB. But 90% of them are funny.

    Sort of. It would be akin to the 10mm they spent on Yankee Stadium in the 70s - it would only delay the inevitable. Also it sounds like the main problem with the player facilities is a lack of space. A new coat of paint and some tvs isn't going to do much to change that, IMO. Also, IMO, those who are rooting for Cuban to buy the Cubs (like me) are also essentially rooting for a new stadium to be built sooner rather than later. We all know that Cuban likes to take care of his players. I'd be fine with this as I think the franchise would be better off they separated themselves from the whiny beotches in Wrigleyville and played more damn night games. Plus it would amuse me to watch property values in Lakeview plummet. Thoughts?

    Yikes. New guy has 18 posts and half of them are defending pitcher W/L record. Also, maybe I read this wrong, but it sounded like you were addressing the Blyleven comment as if his win total was an overestimation of his abilities. It is, of course, a gross underestimation because the man played on some of the worst teams in baseball for the majority of his career and all that's keeping him out of the HOF is his inability to reach a completely arbitrary number of a meaningless counting stat.

    On SportsCenter today. He, Steve Phillips and Ravech's BBTN successor (can't remember the name) are discussing NL Cy Young candidates. The conversation spirals into Kruk arguing that if Webb wins his next four starts, he should get the nod with what would be 23 wins. I'll paraphrase from here: Ravech jr: But John, you can't give it to him solely based on wins; it's a team stat John Kruk: Yeah but ALL stats are team stats! MVP is a team stat! RBIs are a team stat- RJ (interrupting Kruk): But what about on base percentage and slugging- Kruk (shouting): THEY ALL DEPEND ON THE TEAM AROUND THEM! RBI IS A TEAM STAT BECAUSE NO ONE CAN CONTROL WHO GETS ON BASE IN FRONT OF THEM! They shout at each other for a little while and it became unintelligible. Kruk gets in the last word by rolling his eyes and calling RJ "Mr. Sabermetrician." I had always suspected that Ravech knew a ton more about baseball than either of those knuckleheads and it seems the new guy is no different. The moral of this story is that John Kruk is stupid.

    maybe 70, honestly. a 120 pound closer with a violent delivery and numbers trending the wrong way? where do i sign? I would agree with the 7 not 70...The guys numbers might be getting worse, but getting 55 saves means your doing something right. not to the tune of 15mm per, it doesn't
