  1. Notta, Cardinals traded Wallace to the A's in the Matt Holiday deal. A's sent Wallace to the Jays for Michael Taylor (I think?) Cool, thanks.
  2. Ok I was going crazy trying to figure out if this was the Cardinals' guy or not. What did Stl get from the Jays for him?
  3. Nice, MacPhail. Sorry, Bobby V, but we really want BUCK SHOWALTER. What the [expletive]
  4. Milton was bad in his first year here, Lee has a track record and has built up goodwill with the fans and community. There's a really big difference there. Not as bad as Lee has been this year with hardly any complaints from the media. One got torn to shred, and the other hasn't really been touched. First half of Milton's season last year and first half of Derrek's this year.. Bradley last year: .243 .379 .381 .760 Lee this year: .233 .329 .366 .695 This directly correlates to my post that Derrek's been pretty well protected by the Chicago media because he's perceived to be a quiet leader/nice guy to the media. MAN could that guy get on base. I still kinda miss him, I loved that everybody hated him and I knew better
  5. Way to go Hendry, lower his value even more! :P I assume you meant "raise it." I'm actually pretty excited about this trade. I think Hendry knows that this may be his final opportunity to salvage a part of this season. He should also have low expectations for next, so he might even consider this to be a make-or-break trade to keep his job.
  6. I was always under the impression that Happ was a pretty stellar prospect. Was he just another benificiary of the east coast hype machine? Or did Joe Morgan just say something stupid one time and I believed it?
  7. That guy is really exciting. I really hope he harnesses his control. If he does, he has quite a ceiling
  8. Now Lee doesn't hustle? No, he just stands at first all game like a bum
  9. Brenly was a coach under Dusty Baker on the Giants according to his wikipedia page. I'd rather a guy study under Terry Bevington I'd rather a guy study under Terri Schiavo hahahaha karma
  10. I just can't let blatant wrongness lie there like that. haha, damn, jersey, I thought you were 3 people
  11. So very rarely do 3 of nsbb's most prolific arguers come together to join in such a meaningless nitpick. This is one for the ages.
  12. This is correct. It's almost like leading off with Aaron Miles It's actually nothing like that since the pitcher batting eighth is as inconsequential as Manny Ramirez batting fourth and David Ortiz batting third. You're giving a pitcher more PAs than certain position players over the course of the year. That's just annoying, not to mention stupid
  13. This is correct. It's almost like leading off with Aaron Miles
  14. That's Hits per 9 Hold up.
  15. 1.37 HR/9 is the mark of a very mediocre bullpen
  16. Thank-you for the incredibly insightful response. I hope you didn't cramp coming up with that. No where have I said I am correct. I have asked for access to information that I assume some people here are familiar with so I can better understand. I have explained my thought process so people might understand where I am coming from and be bettter able to direct me to some reading material. While looking for some knowledge, understanding and elightenment I should at least thank-you for showing me that you occupy the space farthest from. Chop, meet Jersey
  17. He didn't play with his baseball cards in the attic as a child. you know he effing did. then he separated all the guys with the highest SLG% and insisted they didn't bunt enough
  18. I still think hes the Braves next manager It's pretty obvious that SSR does, too
  19. This from a person using the term Cubbie. Who would you like to see as GM and Manager of the Cubs? GM - Depodesta Mgr - Fredi if he's available or Bobby V
  20. So glad you added your wit & wisdom to the topic, my good man. I'll stop adding mine if you stop adding yours
