  1. Yeah but a guy can dream
  2. Newton would wear the Iowa linebackers like a hat as he scored 5 TDs, like he does to every other team in the country. This is assuming our D-line isn't in the backfield on every play. Spoiler alert: They will be The only line he's played that is at or near our caliber is LSU. And barring a miracle run or two, that game goes the other way. And that's with their pathetic offense. The Auburn offensive line is one of the best in the country, and Newton doesn't take too many sacks when he does pass the ball. Iowa has a great team this season, but I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't shut down the Auburn O. I think Auburn rushed for like 400 yards against LSU, btw. Mmm did not say they'd get shut down. I think we'll make Cam Newton beat us with his arm and even with his great receiving corps, I don't think he can do it. Meanwhile, McNutt and DJK will go apeshit all over their pathetic secondary. Auburn will score their fair share, but if the line gives Stanzi any time, we shred that secondary.
  3. Are you forgetting that Hendry doesn't know how to sell high on players? I forgot it when he successfully sold high on DeRosa, Theriot/Lilly and Gallagher

  5. Out of all those SEC teams, the only matchup that scares me as an Iowa fan is against LSU. Even that game we can win. I would love for Auburn to lose the SEC champ game and fall to us in the Rose/Cap One bowl. I think it would get ugly for them.
  6. Lots of potentially great top-25 games this week. Particularly looking forward to TCU-Utah. Love that TCU D
  7. A bunch of guys I've never heard of and Ben. Grieve. FAIL
  8. Outstanding former player who by all accounts has a really good tactical understanding for the game. Trammel's the best-known and most experienced of our bench coaches, so that's got something to do with the pref for him over Quade, Sandberg, etc.
  9. What was the prop you said looked good for Miami?
  10. Oooh, close not really Your sarcasm meter malfunctions, comrade

  12. Their sense of entitlement is pretty maddening sometimes.
  13. I would love this. Would totally watch that game
  14. An acquaintance of mine from HS, Alex Kanellis, signed with Iowa as a DT and played maybe half a season at the college level. Between HS and college, he had amassed 7-8 concussions and he had to retire for fear of permanent brain damage. At age 19. This is a big deal.
  15. I definitely realize that's an option
  16. If the Rangers don't beat the Yankees, I'm unlikely to watch the WS at all. I will not watch a second of a Yankees-Phillies series, and the Yankees will destroy the Giants if they draw them. So, go Rangers
  17. agreed. problem for the giants is, the phillies can hit and they can't. The Giants have two tough LHPs (Sanchez and Bumgarner) who'll cause issues for the Phillies. I think the Phillies will win the series (in 6), but it'll be closer and lower scoring than people expect. it depends on whether or not sanchez throws the ball over the plate. the phillies are a patient team and won't help him out by swinging at a lot of bad balls. by the way, the phillies hit better against LHP than against RHP this season. utley is just as good against LHP as RHP (and actually was much better against LHP this year), and the problems that howard (especially) and ibanez (to a lesser extent) suffer against them are offset by the fact that werth kills lefties, and victorino and ruiz are significantly better against them. Hm, was focusing on their individual numbers instead of overall. Whoops. I'm rooting for the Rangers tonight. Anyone else? I'm rooting for the team most likely to beat the Yankees. Sorry, Rangers
  18. This happened...because he's Danny Briere
  19. Hrmm or maybe you need to lose to ensure that Turner Gill will not be your coach next year
  20. What is with the Pac-10 love? 2-loss Cal 8 spots in front of Auburn?!
