  1. This goes without saying, but that's a much, much better list Is Rolen still a GG'r over there? Seemed less than impressive in the few games of his that I saw. Agh, beat me but I was gonna say that he certainly wasn't better than Zimmerman. The aware was on rep alone, on a par with Jeter. My only other problem on that list is Victorino. There are a slew of more deserving players.

  3. If you assume that Fukudome is gone no matter what, and you have seen some of the garbage Hendry has gotten in return for his salary dumps (Izturis, DeWitt, Silva, Hairston), you could definitely do worse than Dice K. That said, I'm in the camp that wouldnt take on a dime of salary in the trade. If they want to eat $12 million over 2 years to make the deal I'm willing to see what upside he has in the NL. Obviously there are significant risks (Injuries, inconsistency, general fatigue, etc) but I think he's got the kind of upside we aren't going to find much of in a Fukudome trade. I certainly don't agree with you lumping all of that garbage in the same sentence. Posters were clamoring to get rid of Theriot and getting Dewitt seems like a good deal. As for dumping Bradley to get Silva (plus the money for Byrd), that definitely has to go in the plus column for Hendry. The trade wasn't Theriot for Dewitt though. I was fairly sure that conventional wisdom said the trade worked out as Lilly for the prospects and Theriot for Dewitt more or less straight-up
  4. Wow, dude. OMC's response did not sound biased against your school at all. When you typed this response, I pictured you shutting your eyes, blowing out your cheeks and plugging your ears, btw.
  5. Hmm, I always thought he was a giant prick. Good for him.
  6. That's pretty good. But I still hate Jay-Z
  7. Do you agree with these crazies? I mean, I know we've had lots of problems with mobile QBs in the past, but our line has never been this good. I'm much more worried about a team that can occasionally play some defense and get pressure with their front four.
  8. Iowa is really stupidly doing the same thing with Northwestern, a team that has pretty much owned us this decade After the Indiana game, I doubt they're overlooking NU. Ok well not the team, but most of the fans sure are I wouldn't say that. Most people I talk to are a lot more worried about Northwestern than Ohio State. umm what

  11. Even so Auburn has to lose twice for LSU to make the SEC title game. Without that I don't think they have enough to leap in front of TCU. Although that could be the final piece to destroy the BCS. I think the final piece to destroy the BCS would more likely be a Boise St/TCU Championship game and not a team from one of the power conferences jumping them to be in the Championship game And then as of TCU or Boise State wins the game, a 1 loss Wisconsin team wins the Rose Bowl and the AP selects them as their National Champ. That would be beyond awesome. But seriously, what if BSU-TCU were the only two undefeateds left? Would they actually abide a one-loss team jumping one of the two undefeateds for the title game? I think that would truly spell the end of the BCS. And it would suck a lot more than scenario one.
  12. Well, the good news is that the TCU game is out of hand and the LSU-Bama game is really good
  13. How are they not showing the TCU game anywhere? WTF
  14. Read this sentence. Then read it again. Then, bang your head against a wall.
  15. Because he prefers to seek a major league job over returning to the minors? It's not like he turned down a job on Quade's staff. What a jackass for seeking a managerial opportunity! I'm still waiting for somebody to spill the identify of all these teams that covet Ryno's services so. It's not like he can't field job offers while staying on with the organization. He quit because we hurt his feelings and he's acting like a spoiled child. So then he's not allowed to pursue his dreams elsewhere? If you think there's no market right now for Ryno as an MLB manager, that's fine. You're probably even right. But if there isn't and nobody hires him, I don't think he's a jerk for necessarily overvaluing himself. I didn't want him as manager either, but I don't think he's a jerk for trying to pursue a goal. And if he stays on with the organization, what kind of a message does that send? "I'm only here until someone else hires me?" Then the Cubs have a bench coach (granted not the most important of personnel decisions, but still) who doesn't want to be here, and then they have to look for another one. And wouldn't other teams have to get permission from the Cubs to talk to him? This probably just saves everyone some hassle. I think it's good that he gets it out of the way now so the Cubs have the entire offseason to move forward with coaching staff and other personnel and on-field decisions. I'm not sure how storming off from a nice gig with the Cubs because he was shunned from a big league manager role is going to help him achieve his goal. Not sure teams are going to look favorably upon that. Your second paragraph makes logical sense, and if that's his reasoning for walking away, then I have no problem. But I don't think that's the case, and for the most part, I think prospective major league teams would agree with me.

  18. He doesn't come off as a petulant, whiny bitch at all
  19. Why have such a shitty bowl on NYD?
  20. Other people born on my birthday - Lance Bass, Tammy Wynette and Audrey Hepburn My birthday is super gay
  21. Are you forgetting that Hendry doesn't know how to sell high on players? I forgot it when he successfully sold high on DeRosa, Theriot/Lilly and Gallagher Hendry hasn't done bad selling high. No one should be upset we have Archer. diiiiid you think I was being sarcastic?
  22. Yeah, I took some issue with everyone saying that the Giants are a team without any superstars. That staff has the potential for 3 or 4
