I'm not saying I want a one-man booth. I'm just saying it should go back to being a baseball broadcasting team and not the "Pat and X Show" schtick. Hughes was great at making the best of a bad situation with Santo, but that doesn't mean we should be looking for another incoherent ex-Cub for Hughes to riff off of. You are insufferable. There wasn't any schtick that caused Pat to miss a pitch or a play. IMO, That's one of the things that made them a great team. Pat would paint the picture with words and in the background Ron was saying/grunting everything I was feeling. People are way over-reaching with Ron, he wasn't that bad and no worse than most "color" men on the radio. One thing with XM was that I got to listen to most other teams' radio guys and by and large they are terrible. No, he was pretty exceptionally terrible. You appearently don't listen to much baseball on the radio. Sure I do. Ron was in a league all his own. And I'm fine with that
Well, my family is from Chicago, so I like the Depaul Blue Demons. I went to Marquette, so I like the Marquette Golden Eagles, and my sister's cousin graduated from Iowa in 1972, so I also like the Iowa Hawkeyes...

I thought Cutler looked a lot more brilliant than awful yesterday. The only really bad throw he made was, of course, the pick-6. But he made some excellent throws when he had some time, and he really had good protection all game.
I have a really hard time seeing Ballard fall into the third. Talk had been about him maybe sneaking into the late 1st, after scouts see him run at pro days or the combine, someone is going to fall in love with his size and speed. I was just gonna say this. Unless this is the deepest DE draft in history, he'll probably go early 2nd. He's an unbelievable value in the third. That's a pipe dream

Has there been any indication that either the Cubs or the fans are looking for that? They threw Piniella's name out there, didn't they?
I didn't think it was possible, but you've truly outdone yourself this time. Btw, if you're trolling, it is the single greatest thing the internet has ever seen.
Very well said. The pac rim market is still largely untapped and the players are, on average, more polished than the latin kids, while being cheaper. Anyone who sees only dollar signs is going to prefer the latin market and the big splash signings, but the smart money is on the low risk talent in Japan and Korea
That is terrible. He was joking? I think? If so you could put schools like NW and Indiana in the students division, and then the schools that care passionately about football and probably pay for the majority of their players in the other. But I don't see a 10 team division and a 2 team division being pretty fair. Wouldn't Indiana have to go in a 3rd division marked None of the Above? Totally. Off the top of my head, it would be inferior academically to UM, UW and UI at the very least
Northwestern would be guaranteed a berth in the Big 10 championship game every year but I'm not sure it's that fair to have a 10-team division on the other side. Someone already made that exact same joke-fail
