  1. I like to think that, but they're basically giving the starting RF spot to Colvin this year over Fukudome. What make you think that they won't do that next year over Byrd? I just hope Colvin just bombs as a starter, but does well as a "spot starter/4th OF" role that it'll make Hendry think "Ok, he's not starter material anymore." But I don't think that'll happened cuz Hendry LOVE those types of guys... (Colvin/Jacque Jones/Burnitz) It always seem like they're starting for the Cubs when they should be the 4th OF. WTF ?? You hope Colvin bombs as a starter so you can be right ?? What a ridiculous thing to post. What a ridiculous thing to take from that post. Read the [expletive] again
  2. hahahahaha This is the most underwhelming hire in the history of the big ten
  3. Nope, they definitely shouldn't do that. Colvin can't play center, and Fuku only barely so.
  4. Nolan Smith is awesome. One of the only Duke players I've ever liked even a little bit
  5. SUCK IT, DOMERS that looked embarrassing.
  6. I had no idea Teagarden was a catcher Has Ramirez just been blocked by better prospects because he's been bounced from one excellent system to another? He's still only 26 and I think he was in both systems' top tens at some point. I'm with Sneaky, I LOVE when we make these types of moves
  7. If other teams were vying after Colvin and Hendry didn't listen........ :banghead: I really see no chance Hendry substituted, for instance, Chris Archer or Hak-Ju Lee for Colvin. I don't think Hendry likes him nearly as much as Muskat's dumb ass does.
  8. Do you have an obscure celebrity obit news feed or something?
  9. If Froemming was in this same situation, he wouldn't have batted an eye, and no one would be calling for his head. The fact that Joyce is so publicly remorseful about this is only hurting he and his family. The problem is not the lack of replay, it's the abundance of idiots who see a weakness. Look, I appreciate him coming clean about this. But, you can't look at this as a direct cause of no replay. He didn't handle the situation that well, and people have picked up on a perceived weakness and are calling for blood because they can. It's not an indictment on the lack of replay; it's just an indictment on idiots who want to make a good guy's life miserable because he showed some humanity. Yes, expanded replay could have prevented this from getting so out of hand. But that is hardly the point.
  10. They've got a better, younger, cheaper guy to replace him with in Hellickson? Even more reason why they would be motivated to get less in return for Garza. Not only did the Rays need to move Garza because of his salary doubling, but they already had his replacement waiting in the wings. I think Hendry got played. But, everything I had read said they wanted to cut their payroll this year from the 72ish area down to 50 mill or so. By losing Pena, Crawford, Burrell and Soriano, they had pretty much already accomplished that. Then they traded away Bartlett too. Plus, they lost Navarro, Wheeler, and probably Balfour too. I'm on Cot's while posting this and looking at their payroll obligations is getting pretty funny. At this point, they've turned themselves into the Marlins basically, back when they had a 30 million dollar payroll or less. They're rotation next year(Price, Niemann, Davis, Shields, Hellickson) will be making 9 mill total or so. No clue what they're going to do in the pen-but looking at who've they got, it's going to be less than 5 mill as well. Then, their everyday lineup, including Upton, Longoria, Jennings, Brignac, Rodriguez, Zobrist, and Jaso won't cost them but around 14 mill or so. It looks like they're going to cut their payroll in HALF to me. If I was a Rays fan(not even sure they exist) I'd be pissed as hell, considering how close they could be to contending. You don't think they contend with that team?! I would be ecstatic as a Rays fan
  11. I was really hoping for good news on the prospects coming back. I hate this trade now
  12. It's gonna hurt when Archer is a fixture in an ungodly rotation of Price, Hellickson, Moore and McGee :( Rays were already my favorite AL team. This just reinforces that feeling. I don't like this trade
  13. Yeah both of those guys were totally similar to Heremida. Who said totally similar? They were both somewhat castoffs with projectable power and good patience at 24-25
  14. There was a feature on the local news about it, but tragically most of Kyle's fans get their TV on their computer, so they weren't able to respond. karrrrrrrma
  15. We have roughly 17 Omar Infantes for league minimum in our system. That trade pissed me off so much
  16. well, if this isnt the most racist post of 2011 You are correct. It isn't. Murderer isn't a race. But fiery, hot-tempered pitcher is
  17. Someone please give me Szczur phonetically. Shurr? Shuh-zurr?
  18. It sounds like you've nominated yourself
