  1. Maybe the resources haven't been allocated to pay a top pick? Just bouncing ideas out there. Either way it's horrible news. This would be incredibly disappointing any way you look at it.
  2. Yeah, this sounds like a guy you want to use a top 10 pick on. In the best draft in ten years
  3. That's the most boring one I've seen. For everybody.
  4. We'd end up with lindor and i'd end up with heroin in my forehead So there IS a pick you can't talk yourself into. FWIW, I'm the same. Though I'd still hate Mahtook more.
  5. Tim might be the guy who continues to date the crazy girl because of her potential
  6. Looks like he did some serious backpedaling or was horribly misinterpreted, then
  7. King Pujols laughs at your perfectly executed slider out of the zone.
  8. Oh, so THIS is how we lose this game. Suspense over.
  9. This sounds totally cool
  10. Lindor at 2 could blow everything up. Would the Dbacks grab Rendon hoping Hultzen falls to 7, or could Rendon go as high as 5? That would be crazy and I would love it.
  11. Who the hell is Alan Craig and why does Joe Buck want to [expletive] him so badly?
  12. I guess they shouldn't go to the Cardinals then. hahahaha
  13. Erm, Wittenmeyer was contending that the Cubs were on Selig's [expletive] list and he would put spending restrictions on them in favor of a steep debt paydown (or something like that). He just said that they aren't and he won't.
  14. Holy crap. Everyone on the Cubs, leave now before you get hit in the face or nuts and want to die
  15. Greathouse's is pretty awesome, also. Too bad he can't throw strikes. I thought Greathouse had pretty middling stuff, and got by as a crafty lefty. The k/9 numbers don't really bear that out. Neither do the walks, for that matter. When he was drafted, the scouting report said upper 80s FB (with hopes that it might bounce up a notch once he stopped being a two-player) and a plus curve. The Rich Hill comps might be appropriate given Greathouse's horrid control thus far. Interesting. We do alright with the high upside guys with control issues, so I'm actually pretty optimistic.
  16. Wittenmeyer continually trying to outclown himself for hits is really funny to me
  17. After hearing him now doing his fair share as the #2 color guy on ESPN, I don't anymore
