  1. I don't really mind it. Gets the crowd into it, and maybe LeBron thinks twice before he goes up so strong in traffic.
  2. That was in poor taste. He gets away with it bc he's being self-deprecating. It's way easier than criticizing the officials, which Kerr has done a bang-up job of.
  3. It seemed like you were saying Howard had just as good a chance to make those as James. uh no i wasn't saying that at all. flames was saying that those shots aren't lucky because lebron is the best player in the world. when in fact, he's not the best player in the world because he makes those shots, they aren't part of his game and i'll be happy if he settles for impossible shots more often than not. i just think it's dumb to watch lebron hit 1 40-footer out of a half-dozen and then a turnaround 18 footer rainbow and marvel at his greatness. We're cool
  4. It seemed like you were saying Howard had just as good a chance to make those as James. uh no
  5. dwight howard is the second best player in the world and it would be extremely lucky if he was nailing those shots. i don't get your point. Uhhhhh
  6. Unbelievable that we did more than tread water with this squad on the court. Exactly one guy can shoot worth a damn.
  7. Or they could move Cashner to the 60-day DL. With his setback he'll probably be out at least that long anyway. :-&
  8. Oh man, he could be huge. He hasn't been on the radar for over a year; if he starts producing, that's like another draft pick.
  9. Do you think they'll celebrate any less fervently or be less annoying in Chicago? Not a chance. I'm rooting for them not to celebrate at all; remote as the chance may be.
  10. Considering what they did to Herbstreit this is not at all surprising. Sounds like Smalls his a little bit of a grudge against The Vest. I just googled the Herbstreit thing. That's very sad. I'm sure Pittsburgh just luuuuuurves Mark May, and he couldn't carry Herbie's jock as an analyst.
  11. That would have more to do with the frequency with which he hits at Citi Field, though, rather than be indicative of a downward trend in 3B offense. well, he has a .908 OPS at citi field this year. ops+ doesn't care what his splits are I know. I'm saying his home field is not holding his OPS down. Right, but the pitcher's park he plays in props up his OPS+.
  12. Meyer's mechanics are a mess. The raw tools are there for him to be a dominating power pitcher, but he has a lot of difficulty getting his mechanics in order and repeating them. He's interesting and the sky is the limit for him, but for someone this far along to continue to have so many problems harnessing his control and command is worrying to me. Thanks for the link. That clip is really telling; his arm seems to be in a different slot every pitch. That's scary, but again, if anyone can fix him, it's our minor league pitching coaches. All the draft boards have him gone in the first; do you think he's worth the gamble at, for instance, the 25th overall pick? Any way he falls to our spot in the second?
  13. What do you think about Meyer, Raisin? He seems like a high-risk, high-reward starter that could excel in our system. I think if 3 of Starling, Archie, Gray and Lindor are gone, he should get a long look.
  14. This is the first I've ever heard about even a remote possibility of Bundy being there for us at 9. That would be so amazing. I'm starting to think I want Bradley over guys like Baez, Lindor and maybe even Starling himself. But if Bundy's there and we don't take him...I'd be beside myself.
  15. That would have more to do with the frequency with which he hits at Citi Field, though, rather than be indicative of a downward trend in 3B offense.
  16. Brilliant to save a TO on the second-to-last possession, as well.
  17. Seriously, don't let Westbrook touch the ball here.
  18. I mean, obviously you don't do that, but he's a borderline liability
  19. Wow, they might want to think about sitting Westbrook in crunch time. He makes really poor decisions given that he has one of the 3 best players in the NBA on the court with him.
