  1. Yeah, I like how the evaluation of this move as bad "in hindsight" could be wrong in like 3 months.
  2. Any reasoning behind you're assumption or is it just making an assumption for the sake of making an assumption? I haven't heard Hendry say a word about "getting more lefthanded" for at least a couple years now and probably more than that. Basically, you're saying that if Pujols and Pena were both available, the Cubs would only have pursued Pena? Do you have anything at all to back this up? I don't really feel like digging through old articles looking for it, but I could swear they were focused on getting a lefty power bat in the middle of the line up. If it was never, ever said this offseason, then I am wrong and will admit so. Can't say it would have even been the wrong thing to do considering that most of the best free agent 1b bats were left handed, and the Cubs line up was already dominated with righty bats in Castro, Ramirez, Soriano, Soto and Byrd. They couldn't afford Pujols, so it's not even worth discussing that. I was glad they signed Carlos Pena, so I don't even wish to continue this discussion, but unless he turns things around, we all end up with egg on our faces for thinking he still had something left. It would've been tough to sign Pujols last offseason. Don't know if this has been brought up, but speaking of the Cardinals. Lance Berkman signed a 1 year/8 million dollar deal for 2011. Ouch. I think the Cubs might be in first place if we switched the 2. No, it's a good thing you brought that up, because we weren't talking about it anywhere else on here.
  3. IsoP or IsoD? His IsoP is .102 which is pretty good, I think. His IsoD is pretty low, but his patience is still developing and I didn't really expect him to be real patient this year. It's lower than I had hoped at this point, but not considerably so. IsoP - I was thinking around the same SLG as SSR. I would love more isoD...but I didn't expect it until he showed more power first.
  4. Didn't ask me, but slightly better isoP, for starters
  5. Hahaha SSR is way better at this, guys
  6. They've been doing this for as long as Groupon's been around. Yes, but that doesn't make it less awesome.
  7. If it happens every time I attend a game, it's not a story.
  8. Absolutely. And Bears don't pick this round. Eff
  9. Guaranteed to bring the douchenozzles out. I'll still be there, bc they're the only tix I can afford anymore. $3 beer is pretty awesome
  10. Great, another barely-watchable CSN+ game. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
  11. I'd hate this post even it were accurate. Good news is, it's not.
  12. Nope. From the sounds of it, it was definitely to go after Carimi. Awesome. We win.
  13. It was pretty obvious a long time ago. It was obvious our top 3 pitchers would suck and our next 2 would get hurt? What else you got Kreskin? Z and Demp for sure, but I don't see Garza. He's been pretty awesome. That being said, your point stands. Well I meant collectively since everyone (except for the omniscent like gooney and Truffle (I HOPE WE LOSE EVERY GAME FOR A GOOD DRAFT PICK!)) figured our top 3 starters were locks to be above average at worst. And while Garza's peripherals have been phenomenal, they haven't translated to success on the mound as of yet. I getcha. One could argue that Demp has sucked enough for all three of them. 7 runs in 1/3 of an inning LOLOL
  14. He's not. He made 3 million last year. He makes 6.5 million next year. If the Cubs want both Pujols and Ramirez, they'll probably have to trade Byrd and go with both Jackson and Colvin in the OF. That depends on how they would backload the contract for Pujols though. Aw, crap, I read that wrong. Should have known it was too good to be true. If we did go with Colvin, and Im not ready to give up on him, I would like to have a solid righty backup, even if it is Reed Johnson. Theres the Iowa slug monsters, or perhaps Rebel Ridling can leap frog those guys. Ridling also can play 1B, although I dont know how well, but if we sign Fielder or Pujols, that will be irrelavant. I though Ridling was only playing 1B. I was not aware he was getting time in the OF.
  15. It was pretty obvious a long time ago. It was obvious our top 3 pitchers would suck and our next 2 would get hurt? What else you got Kreskin? Z and Demp for sure, but I don't see Garza. He's been pretty awesome. That being said, your point stands.
  16. Is there any indication that the Bears were looking to trade up to get anyone beside Carimi?
  17. Cincinnati has The National But Akron has The Black Keys, so every other town can suck it That's a bummer. I thought they were from Bloodbuzz.
  18. Kinda bummed that my favorite part of the draft is on so early tomorrow. I love the early second round.
  19. Can't remember the last time I had this much fun watching the draft. CARIMI YESSSSSS
  20. That's 15 yards for a late hit. The runner was clearly stopped at this point. What does that translate to in NSBB wrist slaps?
  21. Sorry not a good head then, but I stand by he's at the least 6'7" and probably 6'8". A bad head, then
  22. Like SSR said; bad for baseball, good for me.
  23. I knew you'd say this. I disagree! I think Geo should be playing every minute of every game, all season! What is he, a wimp?! Koyie being in the lineup over Geo automatically makes the lineup worse than when Quade doesn't do that. But, I see you did not intend for that to be a factual statement, so I guess I can't call you wrong.
