  1. I feel like you should familiarize yourself with our current roster before you can make pronouncements on its talent. Or lack thereof, as the case may be.
  2. If your baseball team had 2 elite prospects you would choose to not use a toilet? What a baffling thing to say. Constajaculation Permanent spray chart
  3. Too bad the Cubs minor league system has been broke for some time. The prospects to choose from are pretty bleak. They have a LONG way to go to get to the Red Sox level. Oh...and some good talent was shipped for Garza (who's been pretty average so far). Hendry gone may help but I am not a fan of how Ricketts wants to improve this team. They need free agents at this point. Not rookies. Not a single word of this post is accurate Sorry you were wrong. Only because you went through and dissected each point I made that you YOU asked me to provide...I have no choice but to concede this argument.
  4. Intersex sounds like something fun I've done in my car
  5. That was the cheapest series of hits. In how many parks does that one get out? Maybe 5?
  6. I thought it was a typo Queer doesn't sound quite right...
  7. This is cool. And this is something that the White Sox would never, ever do unless Ozzie came under fire for hurling gay slurs. So that makes it even cooler.
  8. Why haven't we done this yet
  9. I am so ok with us trolling the bum, but I wish there was some way we could give him the opportunity to defend himself...
  10. Well, there are a good number of seats where you can't see the whole field. Everything back up under the grandstand sucks. Well yeah, there's obstructed view seats, but those are there so that the 20 thousand people in the upper deck have the best upper deck view in baseball. Sigh. Thank you. And it's easy to get under the grandstands and not be obstructed. Section 218-222ish are all pretty close to home plate and are unobstructed with few exceptions.
  11. Good news: This thread is no longer rant #12983 about ESPN Bad news: It's about motherfucking game 6 This is why we can't have nice things.
  12. Or people would respond. \:D/ What?
  13. Hahahaha If they were both on my team, well, I'd probably just have to walk around in a diaper all day, but I would also be slightly more excited by Harper just because of the sexy power. But there's a really good chance that Mike Trout adds a little more value, and would be way more likely to sign a team-friendly deal because he isn't a raging prick.
  14. I love A-Rod the way you love Lebron, too
  15. Good lord, I love these final two pairings. So perfect.
  16. Awesome, but I can tell you with reasonable certainty that Benchwarmer is not banned.
  17. Very nice post. I hope they keep him at TN for another full year and we get to finally watch him knock the cover off the ball.
  18. Wait, I thought he was implying they had been banned...wishful thinking, I guess. Not a one.
  19. Nope.
  20. Garza has actually been really good. It doesn't reflect in the w-l, but that's an irrelevant statistic for player. And simply coming in a throwing a ton of cash at a bunch of FAs might make some people feel better for a while, but it's the sort of nearsighted, reactionary thing a fan would do if they were in charge. It's the sort of thing that got us in this mess. We want this thing turned around in a season or two, but that's just not feasible, particularly given the state of affairs when they took over. Garza's ERA isn't great. It's not terrible, but it's nothing spectacular. I don't dislike Garza I just don't think that trade was the best considering what was given up. Guys are going to come off the books next year (Aram, and Fukudome) so they will have cash. I see no problem with going after Fielder and trying. Ricketts seems to say he won't even try. Pena won't be back and Colvin is struggling. I don't think Baker is the solution at 1st since he's needed as a platoon guy. Not sure what the options would be inhouse. Call up LaHair? No thanks. ERA is a pretty bad way to judge Garza's performance. He doesn't walk guys or give up HRs, and he's given up way more runs than he should given the peripherals. A good reason for that is our below-average infield defense. Look at his xFIP, which tries to control that variable. It's pretty damn outstanding. Again, you're making up that Ricketts is saying he won't even try. Please stop. I would be floored if Ricketts was thinking that we could solve our 1B problem in-house. No one is taking about moving Baker there or bringing up [expletive] LaHair. This is a bad strawman.

They need free agents at this point. Not rookies. Not a single word of this post is accurate Then break it down and show me where the prospects are outside Jackson and Vitters (who isn't doing much). Show me how Garza isn't just pitching average overall. Was Archer not one of the top Cubs prospects? Tell me why Ricketts saying they don't need Fielder or Albert at 1st next year. Hendry gone won't help the Cubs? Why are rookies going to make the Cubs better going forward? Have you been impressed with guys outside Barney as everyday players? I can't navigate baseball reference like some. I remember TT posted that Garza was top-3 in WAR as of a couple weeks ago. Archer is struggling mightily with what he'd been struggling with until he put it together all of a sudden last year - he's walking everybody, and it looks like we sold damn high on him. Meanwhile, Garza is one of the best pitchers in baseball and cost-controlled for 3 of his prime years. McNutt, Ha, Szczur round out the top 5. With Whitenack on the periphery (and on the mend) and a pretty awesome draft coming in. Recently, we've produced Marmol, Marshall, Theriot and Soto from our farm. It's been right about average. When did Ricketts say we didn't need Pujols or Fielder next year? You're making that up. We need to maintain a good balance between acquiring free agents and developing talent from within. It sounds like you're advocating selling prospects for guys who can help right now. In a completely lost year. Just no. How's that?
