good news...murton in right... now...bring up pie and platoon jones and murton floyd can just smile on the bench Except it would likely mean Pagan in CF and Jones in RF or one of Jones/Pagan in CF and DeRosa in RF. no, because pie would be brought up...which would mean start pie for the most part and use pagan for rest days and defensive subage Who gets sent down? Haha, awesome. Marquis does kinda suck. I'm not the biggest fan of Marquis but he has a 106 ERA+ and a sub 4.25 ERA. Not too shabby for the fifth best starter in the rotation. And who was on the trade market to acquire? Don't you know that who was available is irrelevant? Making blanket complaints donm't require stating fixes to the perceived problem..

I think it says guys don't like playing behind Rich. He is slow, throws lots of pitches and really doesn't get the defense involved (Lots of K's and flyballs). Whoa whoa whoa I'm not saying anything like that, I'm just saying it might affect Rich a little pyschologically. He plays his heart out and the bats never seem to pay him any favors. I know what you're saying. And I'm saying that maybe if he pitched a little faster (lower pitch counts, quicker innings) that the bats might pick him up more often. I'm saying that's crazy talk. Oh really? Have you eve played baseball before? Go ask a fielder how much they hate playing behind a Steve Trachsel type, then get back to me. I totally get (& buy into) what you're saying on the defensive side, but I guess I just can't see how it would necessarily carry-over to the offensive side. Admittedly, I only played baseball up through high school... If a player is carrying his angst over a slow pitcher w/ him up to the plate, dude needs to simply sack-up & get over it, IMO.

Yeah, just as well give Cruz a shot.. It's pretty clear that Murton isn't going to get more than sporadic playing time, and he hasn't shown the ability to produce under those circumstances, so he might as well get sent back down. -
