  1. Haha, that's crazy. I've checked this some, but haven't posted much in it. I just haven't cared until it finally now looks like it will happen. And don't get mad at me if I insult E-Pat (assuming that's what your name refers), I just have this personal hate towards him. It's funny you bring that up, my username is because I'm from East Peoria, Illinois. The irony is that Patterson was a Chief the summer I was an intern there. So no, it's not for Patterson, but I do like the guy. I actually interviewed for an internship there the summer of '04, but ended up working with the Silver Hawks in South Bend.
  2. Welcome to the board. His first post went nicely with your 11,000th CT.

  4. #3, though that's before he's added mph as of late and lost 25 lbs this offseason. Thanks Rammy. I guess I'm for trading for Roberts (Gallagher +, not Pie) because I really value DeRosa as a util-man with the way Lou manages. Our becnh is kinda weak right now.
  5. That's what makes Luis so brutal. He's terrible with young guys. He pissed and moaned as he left Arizona about the team turning to young guys, and he pissed and moaned even louder in LA DURING THE SEASON about the team melting down because a bunch of guys not ready for the show were up there. Of course those rookies were the ones hauling Luis's worthless ass to anywhere close to contention. I was not aware. Must really suck for him then, that was probably the only decent offer he got.
  6. I will say though, as bad as Luis will surely be, maybe he can be a good influence on the young team. I'm not the biggest believer in players becoming better because of veterans, but I do think they can learn a lot about how to conduct themselves. Especially in a professional sport with 81 games on the road. EDIT: Actually, upon further review, Luis really isn't THAT bad. http://www.baseball-reference.com/g/gonzalu01.shtml
  7. Sucks for the Marlins, Luis is going to be brutal. Touche.
  8. good low risk pickup for them I totally agree. He's never had more than 219 PA's in a season in the bigs. Talk about frustrating for a player ranked so highly. He just strikes out soooo much.
  9. Sucks for Luis. Marlins are going to be brutal.
  10. Why? They'll have an elite offense. They essentially signed a quality #2 starter and have an elite closer. Hamels Meyers Moyer Kendrick Eaton does not impress me that much. And is this lineup really that amazing? Rollins Victorino Utley Howard Burrell Feliz Jenkins/Taguchi C (they don't have one that I've even heard of) It's an above average team, but 2nd in the NL? Ehh...
  11. because he can play other fields as well and strengthen the bench, not much but he seems to be a clutch hitter in the playoffs. I would like to acquire him in Late July I would like to acquire him in late July as well. Right after we trade Felix Pie in a package for AJ Burnett, etc. at the deadline.
  12. I know this pack isn't the greatest, but you have to remember that 40% of home games are in April/May this year so it really isn't that bad I guess.
  13. I'm surprised how high most are on the Phillies.
  14. I really think the only reason Clemens used steroids was to bulk up for his role in Kingpin.
  15. I'm starting to think it's a good thing I've had RCN the past couple years. Comcast sounds like it's sucked.
  16. That's not a tough question at all. That's not even a realistic question. That's a waste of time fluff question. Any 'good' question will promptly be transformed, by way of JH's response, into a waste of time fluff question. I have zero hopes for anything good/useful/informative coming from this session. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that to even agree to be on the show Jim gets to screen the questions. The website says Lou will be on as well.
  17. Based off memory on what teams have done: 1. Mets 2. Dodgers 3. Cubs 4. Padres 5. Rockies 6. Brewers 7. D'Backs 8. Phillies 9. Braves 10. Reds Contender Line 11. Giants 12. Astros 13. Cardinals 14. Nationals 15. Pirates 16. Marlins
  18. Where's that at?
  19. nah, Piniella has shown he has become somewhat cognicent(sp?) of watching young arms. Bedard isn't even young. hes a year older than hill. Right, he'll be 29 this year and in his 5th full year in the bigs. I don't consider that 'young'.

  21. I've been to Fenway twice, Wrigley probably 300-400 times. Obvious bias, but Wrigley is my choice. The second time I was at Fenway, it was probably the worst experience of my life. I was sitting in the equivalent of 200 section at Wrigley and it felt like it was about 200 degrees.
  22. Yeah, and if you do end up wanting a couple of those games (probably not all 9) you can easily get them day they go on sale. Those dates are not in demand at all.
