  1. The deal is Murton, Gallagher, E-Patt. At least that's the reported deal. Bedard isn't coming to the Cubs. They simply don't have enough. The insiders are reporting that the Reds have upped their offer on Bedard, although they don't know what the exact offer is. You know, seems a bit steep, but I suppose that we may not have roles for these guys anyway, so why not.. That and Eric Patterson sucks, so who cares about him. OK...enough EPat bashing for the day.
  2. I saw Princeton play in the Maui Invitational. Saying they are a dreadful team would be putting it nicely.
  3. Nobody wants Eric Patterson. He is bad, seriously.
  4. Are these guys even better than Parra, Vargas and Villanueva? Not much, if any.
  5. Clemens is in no matter what. Second ballot at worst. He was just too dominating and did too many things at HOF caliber to not include. McGwire just hit HR's.
  6. I think he probably did, I just also think it's meaningful that there is absolutely no evidence that says he did. I can't say it's stupid to think that maybe he didn't. I would think that he 'probably' did as well. However, I could really care less.
  7. God, look how Barry has changed. But in all seriousness, they photo of him dressed up as Paula Abdul is the most ridiculous steroid picture I've ever seen. Who has shoulders like that? http://www.funnyhub.com/pictures/img/barry-bonds-rookie-card.jpghttp://www.knbr.com/blog/blog/Images/Articles/Entry763_439.jpg
  8. I'm not going to say you're wrong because I'm noncommittal, but how the hell are we supposed to know how big Sammy's biceps are in the picture on the right? Actually, you're right. His arms don't necessarily look 'big' in the older one but they look 'strong'. And, that was like 10-13 years in time difference.
  9. Me either.
  10. No Brady Anderson or Luis Gonzalez either.
  11. I've heard that Sosa spent more time in the gym than any other player.
  12. Looks like David Segui could be linked to about 1/2 the guys on there.
  13. Good point. Hmmmm...Tyler Houston, Terry Adams? For sure Tyler Houston. My guess at a good formula for lots of users: Highly touted prospects who don't pan out will try anything.
  14. There are the biggest bums on this list.
  15. I saw that. Wood was injured in 99 though, right? So I don't think he'd be one of those guys. Farnsworth? Jose Hernandez? Benito Santiago? GlenAllen Hill? Sosa? I highly doubt that Karchner would have been sharing an apartment with any of those guys besides Farnsworth.
  16. Alexander, Nomar, Hairston, Heredia, Lawton, Palmeiro and Tavarez were Cubs for like 2 days.
  17. To say NSBB would explode would be the understatement of the year if ever a deal like that went down! I mean, he's completely serious with that post. I, uh, don't know what to say. Hahahahahaha, I guess the Orioles just release like 7 guys from the 25-man after that deal, and who the hell is Bradford that we'd give up Veal for him? I don't know a Bradford. Chad maybe?
  18. That would be terrible. Am I thinking of the same Brian Roberts? I don't value Guzman or Patterson much at all. To me this is basically Murton and Gallagher for Roberts. And honestly, I'm fine with that I think, not thrilled...but fine.
  19. Hendry said he tried to gauge interest at the winter meetings in a Prior trade and there was none. I thought the Rangers and Padres had/have interest? Reds did. No way Hendry trades him within the division and risk having him pitch well against us. Or let him hit the free agent market and get nothing in return, while still going to a divisonal team. I think the odds are like 2-1 if he hits the open market he ends up in Cincy. Touche. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Few more hours... Insert Hawk Harrelson quote here.
  20. I've never really been a fan of college football until this year (When you're an Illini fan and semi-like college football, there was never that much to get excited about). I still don't love it like I do the NFL but there was definitely some fun stuff to watch.
  21. I can't imagine the spread will be very much. Both should be in the Top 15 or even Top 10. Mizzou loses a couple offensive weapons, but that means more playing time for people like Perry(who was a Freshman All-America then got bumped to 5th WR because of depth) and Alexander. Daniel is back to lead the offense, and there's going to be 9-10 returning defensive starters. Sounds like Mizzou should be ranked top 5, no? But how does a WR go from Freshman AA to 5th on team?
