    I think the Cubs can (and about 50/50 on will) beat Peavy tonight. But it's probably due more to the fact that the Padres blow at hitting and Lilly has been going well.

    Estes got a W today so its only fair Peavy doesn't. Got to even out ...right???? Marquis beat Oswalt, I think last night was the evening out game. Crap. In 2005, the Blue Jays took the first 2 games of a series against the Cubs, and the Cubs had Sergio Mitre on the mound to avoid a sweep vs. Roy Halladay. Sweep right? No, the Cubs won. In 2007, the Cubs played the Diamondbacks, and the first game of the series, we had Brandon Webb going against Jason Marquis. We won. Potential sweep right? Nope, the Dbacks took the next 2 games. You end up staying for the whole game last night? I'm gonna give it one more go tonight, but 5 in a row is wearing on me this week especially with this crap weather.

    The Bears are obviously trading down to get a bunch of picks and trying to accumulate somre roster talent. Steltz should be a solid special teamer and be able to step in at safety if needed on occasion. Angelo and Lovie know they are going to be competing on defense and ST again this year. Why not try to acquire as many good football players as possible and let guys fight it out for roster spots and special teams duty. I think next years team will be just as bad offensively but we should have some battle back in us on defense/ST again. What's the point of even getting a QB at this point? Gimme a Guard, another OL and another athlete and I'd be happy.

    Mets' lineup blows. Been waiting for Pie in the 2 spot for some time now. Pretty happy about that, also moreso that he will hopefully see some good pitches. Weather is still looking good over here. We haven't got rain a lot of the days that the suburbs have so I'm hoping that will continue today. Very windy though.

    You'd rather have Pie? Yes, I would rather have the 23 year old kid get consistant playing time so come this off season we know if he is ready to be our cf of the future. As it is going now we are going to be in the same spot as we were this past off season. I'll take the wins now. This is the equivalent of trying to time the stock market or figuring out if a roulette wheel is due for black. I'm pretty satisfied playing a guy the day after he goes 4-4

    I'm seen worse. Someone was selling t-shirts with a slant-eyed Cubs face (think the Cub that used to be on the sleeve) with the caption "Hory Cow!" And I'm sure they didn't see anything wrong with it, either. At my job there is a was a british customer, and the barista talked to him the whole time in a terrible british accent, and was confused when he got offended and walked out. She really had no idea. People are ignorant. I don't think the headbands are that bad.
