    I'm a home owner very close to the stadium and would LOVE for there to be more night games. Closing off Sheffield like at Fenway? Not so much. But in the article I read the other day he was very defensive of the rooftop owners. I mean, who the hell cares about the rooftop owners? The Cubs should be entitled to do whatever they want regarding the rooftops/advertising in front of them IMO.

    I would expect his K rate to go down moving to an AL team. I don't think that's a ridiculous guess/prediction. Sure, a tad because of no pitchers batting, but not enough to make a team acquiring him concerned about it.

    That continues to suck for ISU, they could have been the favs in the MVC next year before Jankovich left. I liked what I had seen out of Moore.

    Wait, why is that stretch "huge?" You're thinking too much into the word. But if I need to defend it I'd say the team probably has more confidence than they've had all season and are hitting the road for 5 games vs. supposed top of the division teams. Then come back for an always ridiculous Sox series. If they lay an egg I'd assume the season is pretty much done. That = huge, I guess.

    Right now I'm happy not wanting to gouge my eyes out while watching this team, even though the offense is pretty brutal. But soon I'm going to get greedy and want more.

    Ehh, maybe it's a little early for that. I thought the Cubs were only like 4 games out.

    Nice win, huge 2 week stretch coming up though (@Mil, @STL, PHIL, CWS). If they can play .500 or better over this upcoming span you'd seriously have to think about upgrading the offense a bit, no?

    Was he not interested in baseball or just boring as all hell? Not very well-spoken. Waiting for him to answer a question resulted in a lot of dead air. Michael Bush, new Bears RB. I actually thought he was surprisingly well spoken for a guy who probably knows zero about baseball. He sang the stretch pretty well, going slow with the organ and pausing for the fans to sing, ala Harry. I thought it was going to be awful.

    I love Dempster, he's been awesome here, but it's tough to see a contender taking him on as a high end third starter. He doesn't throw hard enough that you can trust his K's to translate say...into the AL East or something. Plus there's his penchant to just crap out a 6 walk start for no reason. Maybe if Hoyer is a good salesman, but teams are going to do homework on him and I doubt he gets graded as a high end 3 on a championship caliber club. Huh? He has 794 K's over 859 2/3 innings the past 4+ years.

    Maybe not a "franchise changing" prospect, but why wouldn't someone give up something good for him if he continues to pitch well? He could be a legit high end #3 for a championship caliber team and those are pretty valuable. His K rate is good too which is a big plus for me come playoffs.

    I can go either way on Dempster. I think he would probably take a small Chicago discount and if we could have him back for $9 million a year or so I'd probably do it. I'd also have no problem trading him this year if the return was semi-significant. Would probably need to get a top-ish pitching prospect and something else in return to be worth dealing him. Would Dempster be a guy who could possibly be traded and then re-signed next season?

    The #2-7 ERA leaders in the NL are 26-4, #1 Ryan Dempster is 0-1.

    Burke too; I didn't think he'd be able to have that sort of command so quickly.

    I see nothing wrong with booing in the instance of a pitcher consistently walking multiple batters & throwing wild pitches over the course of months. Honestly, I wanted to yell about the decision to even put Marmol in that spot last night. Sometimes it's fun to boo, I boo the play calling at Bears games constantly. It pisses me off and I want to yell, it's more fun.

    Brewer is for sure gone. Korver would be nice to have back because he's fairly solid offensively when Rose is around. Without Rose is a totally different story, he can't create his own shot whatsoever so Thibs has been playing him less and he's not worth much, especially since he can't play D. Watson is a solid backup, but has looked bad in the postseason which is what everyone is going to remember. Tough calls. I say keep Korver and Watson and ditch Ronnie. By no means would I be that upset if they got rid of Korver or Watson, but as of now it seems logical to keep them as #7/8 pieces of a possible championship caliber team. They have to upgrade the #2/3 player on the team. A backup star is needed.
