  1. Gates open 2 hours before the game. Depends on where you want to sit in the bleachers; but for a Sunday game in June, if you got there a little after the gates open you will get great seats. Really starts to fill up about an hour before the game.
  2. I'd hate to think it's because of . . . 4/20 I think it's pretty funny.
  3. Sorry, but I really could not see this happening.
  4. I only caught 2 innings during lunch but it seemed as though this ump had an enormous zone.
  5. That is an ugly line-up. Hello, four game losing streak. Need some games outta Soriano, Theriot and Jones.
  6. No, if he doesn't get ejected at all this year I win-that's what I chose. Yeah.. and that's probably the best bet. It's the safest one. Not the best one. Mine's the best bet. If anyone ever gives you 10,000 to 1 odds on ANYTHING.....you. take. it. If John Mellencamp ever wins a grammy, you're looking at a very wealthy man. I love The Office. Dude bit a raw potato and never noticed Wasn't it oscar? Yes
  7. I'll go with: Soriano - CF Theriot - 3B Lee - 1B Floyd - LF Barrett - C Jones - RF Cedeno - 2B Izturis - SS Yuck!
  8. Off days following a 2 game sweep on your opening home series, blows...big time. Just one less day game most of us won't have to miss because of work. I don't mind it.
  9. I'm guessing any tickets sold already would be valid for that date, and any remaining tickets purchased will be priced as prime dates. Just called 800 the cubs and she said they dont know yet what the cubs are going to do. they could refund everyone who has the tickets, switch the ticket for another game and or honor the tickets/reprint them for this game Well, I just bought 4, 15 rows behind the plate for $24 a pop. I figure if nothing else, I get refunded. Maybe I'll get lucky and get some good seats cheap.
  10. Pretty nasty up here, doubt that's gonna happen. But who knows, still 4 hours away.
  11. When you only have so many at bats to impress, you get aggresive. That's not a fair characterization. He's been doing it since ST and even in his first couple of starts... much too anxious I don't take ST too much into account. Everybody wants to get their hacks in Arizona.
  12. When you only have so many at bats to impress, you get aggresive.
  13. Sportsbooks in Vegas had them at 4:1 and 5:1 a week ago. 16:1 sounds closer to what it should be. Not sure.... but I think the 4:1 was on winning the division. Nope....4:1 were the odds 2 weeks ago when I was there. Ridiculous.
  14. I didn't read the whole long thread so I don't know if someone mentioned this. But didn't they say that Soriano would have just as hard a time playing RF as CF at Wrigley?
  15. Haha, I can only imagine that Aaron Cook has quite the following.
  16. Having two young, talented players hitting 7-8 isn't too bad either.
  17. I actually kinda like what the Rockies have been able to put together over there. Aside from the top of their order, it looks formiddable.
  18. HGH? Just kidding I think. He has also shown increased patience. He has to show it in the season though. Might be hard to do when you don't play very often. Young players are usually more aggressive at the plate; but I'm guessing maybe even more so when they only bat 5-7 times a week.
  19. Be grateful, at least you don't have to stand on concrete like factory workers or Wal-Mart employees (ask one why they don't have stools), or work outside in 90+ degree temperatures like migrant farm workers, or risk death every single day like crab fisherman, or spend all your days driving a truck seeing your family seldom or never, or cleaning up other peoples' most disgusting garbage as a sanitation worker or janitor. I trust I've made my point. People should be grateful for what they have instead of jealous of others. Move this to rants if need be. EDIT: And it's not like Kerry is trying to get hurt. He gave the Cubs a big discount on this year's contract. I do fault Hendry for relying on him and Prior so heavily for so many years prior to this season, but it's hardly fair to blame Kerry for just signing the contract Jim offered. I'm not actually pissed off and far from jealous. Kerry Wood threw in the range of 100 MPH, of course he was going to make money. If I could do that then I would have too. What I'm saying is that he has continued and is going to continue to make than kind of money when it is ALMOST GUARANTEED that he isn't going to actually play.
  20. It pisses me off that Kerry Wood is a Multi-Millionaire and never actively practices his profession and I sit behind a desk and make jack.
  21. I'm not sure why this is depressing?
  22. another lee elia-like shot here. I would like to hear someone say that Cubs fans are so successful that they can afford to take off work to go to games.
  23. Maybe he really was holding back just a bit. I mean obviously there is more to pitching than MPH but that sure is a nice sign.
