  1. Not a bad idea to get him a start against the Nats. Winnable game to get back on track. That was my original thought, but his AAA starts really muddied the waters. Well, Sunday will almost be like another AAA start.
  2. Yes, it does, because 90% of baseball is right handed. And where did this idea come from that he cant hit righties, anyway? He's batting in the upper .280's with an OBP of .350 lifetime against righties. Granted, it is better against lefties...but it's not like he cant hit righties Nobody said he can't hit righties. But you aren't gonna start Floyd/jones/Pie against lefties if you can start Murton there. So that basically leaves those other guys playing against righties. So until Murton proves that he is noticeably superior to those others he isn't getting 'screwed'.
  3. Because he's playing the least amount. Does that mean Cedeno is getting screwed? And no, I'm not comparing the two, but someone has to play the least.
  4. When Soriano moved to LF, Murton became a bench player. Jones is the starter in right, with Murton and Floyd getting a good amount of time there as well. Murton is not getting a good amount of time in right. If you believe the back injury kept him out of the games before the off day last week, then since Soriano moved to LF Murton has started twice in right over a 5 game period. If you believe that, well, have fun. I believe in facts and the fact is Murton is getting screwed. But how is it a fact that Murton is getting screwed? Isn't everyone kinda getting screwed with all the OF's we have expecting playing time right now (excluding Soriano)? Because Jones and Floyd (and even pie) are getting far more starts then Murton at this point. Ok, but that doesn't mean Murton is getting screwed. They are playing against RHP and have more power than Matt.

  6. Otto just said Lou plans on bringing in Ohman after Howry.
  7. These same questions have to be asked at least weekly.
  8. And I said "Oh hush" becuase not liking a player for voicing his opinion on a subject is dumb. If DeRosa came out and said "Pedophilia should be legal", then yeah, hunt him down and crucify him. But if him, or any player says they think the NL should have a DH don't act like you're disowning him just because he has an opinion like everyone else in this world i don't think anyone was really disowning him or not liking him. i think they were just expressing their distaste for his opinion on that issue. I would think that his opinion has a lot to do with the fact that he was a utility player. Having a DH enables guys like that to get many more at-bats, a job and more money.
  9. 0-4, you friggin genius. I mean hoestly, let's face it, Dusty Baker ruined Matt Murton. I sincerely hope thats sarcasm.....Please let that be sarcasm. Sarcasm...however, his hitting philosophy is highly flawed right now. Yeah, lemme take that back. Sarcastically said Murton is ruined. Not sarcastically said that Dusty has contributed to his bad approach.

  12. You, poor, poor newbie... Newbie? I'm probably older than half the people here. You gotta come from behind at some point, and we got 3 innings left.
  13. 1/3 of the game left. Ted has pitched great again and we are gonna pick him up. 2 runs is not winning this thing...I hope.
  14. Remember...We absolutely owned Pujols last year. I think he means in general, he's below .200 for his AVG Yes, I know that. But it seems he has been mortal against us for a while now.

  16. Yeah, a person's size is definitely overvalued when talking about steroids IMO.
  17. Because he is a pitcher and pitchers don't hit HR's. People who are only mediocre baseball fans (and by that I mean root for a team, know the game, but aren't completely in tune) only associate steoids with hitters.
  18. But they wouldn't do that before he retired, would they? no, but soon after is what i meant. :D Oh for sure...I think most people are already over his departure.
  19. But they wouldn't do that before he retired, would they?
  20. That's fine. If someone wants to hate one of the two best players in this franchises history, it's their choice to do so.
  21. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/columnists/cs-070418downey,1,3972656.column?coll=cs-home-utility Great article about Sosa today. As a Cub fan I lost a bit of respect for Sosa after the '05 season, but that's in the past. I'm also confused as to why people hate Sosa, especially Sox fans. The only thing I can really think of is because they traded him to of all teams, the Cubs. He really was great for baseball and the city of Chicago. Not to mention he revolutionized the way we think of players from the Latin American countries. I had the chance to go to the DR and he truly was an icon there, they heard Chicago and it was "Sammy!" He is a class act guy for the most part, giving millions to his home country. Sure he is full of himself but I probably would be too if I had 600 HR's, 3 60+ HR seasons and an MVP. That is just his nature. The man is a beast and one of the greatest hitters I have ever seen. He is no Bonds, but does anybody really want to be?
  22. Who will start tonight: Uncle Cliff or Jacque or neither??
  23. Umm...maybe because you never see a flying piece of pizza hit someone in the face at a baseball game. Not to mention the announcers were dying laughing. I don't understand how someone could not find this funny.
