Like him saying Kendall and Hill were going to alternate starts? Or how Cedeno and Theriot were going to split time at SS? Lou says alot of stuff, and then does the exact opposite. And so what? He's got the hammer, and he's going to use it. I don't recall him saying Cedeno and Theriot were going to split time. He did say Theriot would need days off. Things change as time goes on, and any manager reserves the right to change his mind. Lou doesn't give one dam* what anybody thinks (including us) as long as the team is winning. I kind of like it. I remember reading Lou saying that him and Theriot would split time, but I dont remember where. And Im happy Lou doesnt give a damn what anybody thinks, but if he thinks Murton or Cedeno will continue their hot hitting getting 1 AB a game, hes wrong. The way Floyd has been hitting, there really is no reason for Murt to not get a shot in RF. Instead hes been relegated to the bench once again. Same goes for Cedeno, we have a starting 2nd baseman who has a sub .600 OPS, but Cedeno cant get a shot? I agree with you completely on the Murton front but not so much on Ronny. I think most here would agree that we are best off with Theriot at SS, DeRosa at 2nd and a Murton/Floyd platoon in the OF with Cedeno getting the occasional start in the INF.

Who on earth do you want benched for Cedeno? Why even have him here? Because we are in a playoff race and he's the best player available in our system. If it's April, he's probably starting at AAA. But it's not, it's almost August, and we need our 25 best players in Chicago.

Who on earth do you want benched for Cedeno? +1, I'm comfortable with cedeno's current role. Yeah, I mean I like Ronny; but I just think that with the way the team has been playing and at this point in the season, it's best to stick with what we have in Theriot for 85% or so of our SS starts.

Yeah, the schedule just won't allow for 13-14 wins I don't think. Luckily we get Chiefs, Cowboys & Broncos at home as those are mighty tough places to play on the road. Unfortunately, we still have to go to Philly, Washington, Seattle and San Diego. As training camp opens today, who do you see as a veteran being cut?

I've really questioned this lately (this season). Derrek has missed a lot of balls that he has made easily in the past. He really looks a step or two slow. As much as I questioned everyone touting Pujols' defense, he really is quite good.

Bold #1 - Because he was (still is, kinda) an amazing 1B. Bold #2 - When did you see him play OF? Again I am not even remotely saying we should move him to the OF. I was just wondering why he was never an OFer. Also he is an amazing 1b I agree. However it is 1b. As Elaine asked Keith Hernandez "Dont they put the bad players at 1b?" When I say he seems like a natural OFer, I am going by his athletism and body type. Truth is most 1bman get stuck there because they have failed in other places or are catchers who can hit. My question is did DLee fail at another position? or was he on a team with a glut of outfielders and got put at 1b for that reason? I guess it is more of of DLee history question. He probably got put there in HS because he was so tall and just developed a comfortability.

That's the problem - neither he or Adewale are earning their money. I'm really hoping a healthy Tommie Harris and fierce competition will bring the best out of Alex and Wale. Both are very good players. The reason the Bears D struggled at the end of last year was because they weren't getting consistent pressure w/ the front 4. Hopefully the DTs can take up 3-4 blockers on passing downs leaving the ends 1 on 1 on the outside more often. We'll see, I'm suprised to hear this much positive talk about Adams; I thought he was a disappointment @ SF which was why they let him go. I must've misread that whole deal. In my delusional world Mike Brown stays healthy, which gives our D its edge back, and DT turns out to be not a huge issue. Hey, I can dream can't I? 8-) I don't think Adams has a huge contingent of fans or anything, but I definitely think that he will be serviceable when placed around other great defenders in a great scheme (i.e Ian Scott and Alfonso Boone). Adams has definitely underachieved. But as stated above, most people think he can shine in the Bears scheme with great players around him on the D-line. He'll be better than Scott (and I liked him) and better than Tank was last year. Then that would please me.

But that is the difference between us and Hendry....Hendry doesn't see him on the downside...and that ladies and gentlemen, is very sad AND the main reason the Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908. Ken Hendry's inability to see Kendall's downside is the main reason the Cubs haven't won a World Series in almost 100 years? :shock: Geez...don't people know how to read?? I didn't say Hendry's inability...I said HIS PHILOSOPHY.....adhered to by Cubs management since the dawn of time. Hendry simply grabbed the baton handed to him. Yeah, people know how to read. But when you write what is bolded, people get confused. I bolded one word -- philosophy. That was what I emphasized, not Hendry. It only goes to show, people read what they want to read. What you typed above (see above, this isn't that difficult) does not mention the word philosophy, and it was the first thing you wrote. So stop trying to pawn your typing mistake on other people's reading abilities.
